I really like this place so I’m going to leave it at 3 stars, but I guess our waitress was having a horrible day because she stormed up to us crazy fast and LITERALLY chucked our food and silverware at us - this is not like an exaggerative karen explanation either, this woman literally - actually tossed our stuff at us and stormed offWasn’t going to mention it to anyone til we were served warm salad and cold brisket, crazy crazy crazy tiny amount of meat. Brisket was made properly for sure but three paper thin slices that were cold? Cmon(larger blonde woman working on sunday 4/21 at 1:45pm - 2:45pm)

Urban Roots is my favorite spot for barbecue. While it may be a bit pricey, you can upgrade your smoked meat selection to a combo meal for an additional charge, which includes a side salad, a side of your choice, and cornbread. The cornbread is a must-try; it's the best I've ever had, especially when paired with their sweet butter.Although I'm not a big fan of beer, their beers are delightful. With both indoor and outdoor seating, plus being dog and kid friendly, Urban Roots is a place I highly recommend visiting.

Great selection of brews and tasty fries to keep you wanting more brews. The rest of the menu looked great, and I hope to try something new next time.

By far one of the best breweries in Sacramento. Service is always kind and efficient. But the beer and the food are the real stars. They always have a great variety mixing traditional ales and lagers, as well as some more experimental beers. Not to mention some of the best BBQ in in the area.

The atmosphere is cool, tons of space. Service was mediocre for it not to be a busy day. As for the food, the collards greens were good, the mac&cheese was too cheesy, ribs and brisket were decent. Now let’s get to the prices. It’s beyond over priced for the servings they give. I spent $90 on 2 ribs, 5 thin slices of brisket, a burger, mac&cheese, and greens. I get it you’re the location where you have $900, 000 houses but those prices are insane. Maybe it’s brewery part that makes them feel they can charge that much. They charge you for each individual item. That’s including the drink! You don’t even get a drink with your meal! I highly recommend you get your BBQ experience elsewhere.

Super Nice! As a Chef , I know some places frown upon splits, but we got the Turkey Avocado Sandwich ? and Cobb salad split. Our choice for side was of course Their Mac-n-cheese; Creamy & Delish! Paired with their 'Like riding a Bike' IPA Nice crowd, great covered outdoor eating (& drinking ?) area

Not vegan friendly. Disappointed that we had to pay an extra $3 per burger to add impossible patty. 2 burgers for $50 is insane — especially when the only toppings were 2 onion rings and jalapeños… if you are going for beer, eat at home

I had the burger and fries. The burger was huge and filled me most delightfully. As for my beer, it was the unfiltered pale ale ( the name escapes me). My wife enjoyed brisket tacos and the Luna de Miel amber lager. Great experience.

Okay so food was delicious. Was nkt expecting the price to be what it is but it was worth trying. The pork belly was sooo good. The glizzy tho was exceptional and mac n cheese never gies wrong so +2 there lol. I got a stout drink and my goodness it was good. Almost like drinking straight shot of black coffee lmao. Would definitely try again some day. ?

If I could give this place 10-stars I would. The ambiance is chill, busy but plenty of space both in doors and out. The cashier and wait staff were friendly and patient as I washed questions about their menu options. The food is delicious and the beer even better! I had their house hazy, I forget the name but it was yummy. I had the brisket and fried basa I shared with my teenager who had the pulled pork sandwich and didn’t leave a crumb. Definitely a must go next time I’m back in Sacramento!
