The hot dogs are snappy like Casper Dogs if you're a bay area native. The buns are super soft and fresh. The fries are cut and cooked to order. A tiny fry is enough to share with two people and a small is actually gigantic. The staff today wasn't too helpful and seemed a little annoyed at any questions. The hotdogs come absolutely naked unless you order toppings, which if you didn't know before you got there the staff wasn't going to tell ya. Because they are only open 11-3 there were quite a few people in their line so I didn't want to waste their time. Fortunately there is mustard and ketchup available on the counter but everything else costs extra, so order the hot dog you want to begin with. The bagel dog was the bagel dog of our youth with the bagel bun with the shriveled hotdog inside but they cut it open and put toppings in it, if you knew how to order it.There were lots of regulars in there today and the staff seemed only slightly less annoyed with them. So it might have been an off day. I'll go back and try again now that I figured out how to

Weiner works was definitely good, the woof had a nice snap to it. I had the chili cheese dog and it was definitely good. It's a nice & cheap lunch. I will be back for sure, the German dog is next on my list! I'll update this review then

Used to live in Sacramento. No one knows about this place. I go there every time. I was there in March 2022 and went every day I was there. I get the 14 inch hotdogs and the large chili cheese fries. The fries are monster size. The tiny or small is enough to feed 2 persons. Med size 3-4. The Large, well just have fun eating it by yourself. Root Beer is fantastic. Best you will have. They take credit card now. Was only cash. Highly suggest to go. Been going there since 2001. My wife since the 1980s. I always get the chili cheese hotdog. Can't locate photos at the moment for the larger fry's or hot dogs, but will upload.

the bun was huge barely could see the hot dog and it had hard skin I like skinless everybody else might like it but not me
I love this place. The portions are crazy huge. I love the chili cheese fries. The sauerkraut and cheese dog is my go to. Highly recommended!! My son says that they have the best corn dog he has ever had.

Spent a lot of the night with an upset stomache. I think the only thing you should order here is a chili dog, don't try anything else. Also weird hours.

Been eating here for many years. What can I say about hot dogs steamed in beer? They are delicious. Order a tiny fry for one or two people. A large fry is a cafeteria tray heaping with fries. Enough for a family. The portions are large and the line is long. We'll worth the wait.

One word or caution: Be cautious when you order a large order of Fries, The are delicious but boy there is a lot of them:-) If you are ever in Auburn give the Weiner Works a try.
