Came in for dinner and the place was busy. There were a lot of servers but they were slow in sitting us down and the appetizers didn't come out immediately. Our orders were cooked fast though. We only got the galbi and pan fried seafood pancake and were not aware that rice comes with any order that we only ordered 1 rice. The appetizer selection was huge but we didn't like most of it. The galbi pieces were few and if you're sharing, it might not be enough. The pan fried seafood pancake was huge though. We were seated right in front of the front door and it was raining when we dined so the cold air kept coming in whenever someone opens the door. The food prices were high probably because of the huge appetizer selection and rice.

YD Tofu House is our go to spot for Korean food. I don't like cooking my own food so it's nice to find a spot that does it for you. Everything we've had has been great but the standouts are the bulgogi, haemol pajun, grilled mackerel, and spicy pork. They're very generous with the quantity and variety of their banchan too. Faves include japchae, fish cakes, kimchi cucumbers, bean sprouts, broccoli and the little fried fish. I've come with both small and large parties and we roll out stuffed and satisfied. YD is lucky their food is so noteworthy because the location and service leave a LOT to be desired. It has a miniscule lot that is tough to get through much less find a parking spot. There aren't many options around the restaurant either. Each time we go, we just expect service to be poor. You have to flag somebody down to take your order. Sometimes you get your entire order, sometimes you don't. Being able to get water refills depends on where you're located and how busy the restaurant is. If you don't set high expectation for service and come to enjoy the food, you'll be all good.

Since our favorite Korean restaurant has recently closed. We were in a hunt for a new place to enjoy Korean dishes. My hubby found YD Tofu House by Folsom Blvd. We went exactly at the time they open as this place tends to be packed. The place has a decent size. The tables and chairs are arranged appropriately. There is this friendly and warm vibe when we entered. We were greeted and seated immediately. The waitstaff are all so nice and friendly. They have extensive knowledge of their menu and suggested quite a few good dishes. We got our favorite grilled Mackerel (very juicy and delicious), Soft tofu/ beef soup (savory and great for this cooler weather) and tried the Yangnyum deep fried chicken (the outside is soooo crispy, inside is so juicy...yummmm!). We were also served with a wide variety of Banchan. Everything was fresh, juicy and delicious. The waitstaff checked on us and refilled our water multiple times. We found a new place to have great Korean lunch/dinner. We will definitely be back!

Good food and price. The service was ok. Ambience was quiet and clean. The bathroom was ok and good think don't smell.

The food is legit and the banchan is very authentic to traditional styles with less sugar throughout (tho the kimchi was still too sweet for my preference). Lunch menu is very reasonable considering the spread laid out before you. Try the pork soft tofu soup spicy for a nice kick cooked down by the hot tea Don't expect American style service, if you don't ask for it they're not coming around to check on you. And that's ok with me.

We are regulars here. Most of the dishes we've tried are mediocre and we haven't ordered again, but I love their steamed mandu and bossam. Fiancee's fav is also the bossam. The portion is huge and we leave with a ton of leftovers each time even if it's the only dish we order. My mouth is watering as I'm thinking about it. They give plentiful side dishes which taste good too and really help with filling you up. Side note: you have to order a main to get the side dishes. One time I only wanted to order the gogi mandu but I was warned it wouldn't come with the banchan. I think that's reasonable. Service is hit or miss and definitely depends on the server you talk to. A few of the ajummas are friendlier than others, and 1 in particular with curly hair and glasses is very nice and lights up whenever she greets us. The first time we were there, I thought she was rushing us to order but really she was just trying to get our order in before some larger parties that were seated at the same time. She was worried that we would have to wait a really long time for our food (I didn't realize until after it was too late). The non-ajummas who've worked there have always been nice too.

This place is so good! I've been 3 times now and it's consistently delicious. I'm vegetarian so I'm limited on what I can get. The waitress recommended Y2 dolsot bibimbap with no meat and it was sooo good. Every bite was hot, flavorful and delicious. All of the sides were great to try. Definitely not all vegetarian but I had to try at least a bite of each. My friend enjoyed the bulgogi. Staff is very friendly, food is good :)

My friends and I came to this restaurant for dinner after a fun day of snowboarding at Tahoe. We were craving Korean food and my friend remembered going to this restaurant before. The place was clean and the vibe was quite lively. The service wasn't greatest as the staff were rushing us to order, and took a while to give the food (including the side dishes). Despite the okay service, I was blown away by how good the food was. They served almost every Korean side dish I know of at once from fish cake to kimchi to the glass noodles. The picture I took explains it all. We got the seafood pancake for the appetizer, and it was MASSIVE (the biggest seafood pancake I saw). It was also very yummy as well and had a good amount of seafood. I got the kimchi beef soon tofu, and it was also really good. It was a very big bowl and had a lot of tofu and meat. It wasn't too sour and had a nice savory flavor. I had a fun time eating this with the provided rice and will give this meal a solid 8.5/10. I left the restaurant satisfied and happy that I know a good Korean restaurant in Sacramento in case I go on another trip to Tahoe!

Extremely hostile employees. They were mad that we didn’t tip them enough, when all rhey did was brought our food and gave us our check. we are a group of 3…they threaten to add tip the next time my family and I visit… kind of weird because TIP IS NOT REQUIRED.

My recent visit to this Korean tofu house was nothing short of a culinary delight. From the moment we sat down, we were welcomed with a diverse array of complimentary small dishes, each one a burst of unique flavors. The variety included pickled vegetables, kimchi, and other traditional Korean bites, setting the stage for an authentic dining experience. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tofu soup. The broth was a harmonious blend of savory goodness, and the tofu itself was impeccably soft, absorbing the essence of the carefully crafted flavors. It was a comforting and hearty bowl that left a lasting impression. What truly stood out was the generosity of the establishment in offering these small dishes at no extra cost. It added an extra layer of warmth to the dining experience, making it not just a meal but a journey through the rich tapestry of Korean cuisine. The attentive and friendly service complemented the culinary excellence. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring our dining experience was top-notch. In conclusion, if you're a fan of Korean cuisine and appreciate attention to detail, this tofu house is a gem. The free small dishes and exceptional tofu soup make it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic and satisfying culinary adventure.

This is my favorite Korean restaurant in the Sac area. Went to other Koran restaurants in the area but still go back to this one. No MSG and a lot of small dishes that you can enjoy. Highly recommended.
