I give every place two tries before I write a bad review and this place was equally terrible twice. The only employee we saw was on the phone for a long time before they even acknowledged us, it was like pulling teeth when we did talk, and we received no information at all. In her calendar there was one opening for Friday *which she shared to our face (my mom was with me)* but she said she was booked with no explanation as to why she had written there was an opening. Terrible ambiance and unnecessary hostility. I live in Santa Cruz but have family in Salinas. I will be going to "The Buttery" instead. Extremely lazy and just disappointed, they were open for 20 minutes (this happened a few minutes ago) and had no display cupcakes. It gave a very negative energy. If you read this, I hope your day turns around for the better.

Their cupcakes are very yummy. Soft and moist. Most of the ones I've tried aren't too sweet. The frosting can be but I just take around half of it off and I'm fine. My daughters and husband love coming here. It's a nice treat to have. Once in a while they run out but it's nice to know that you get freshly made cupcakes and nothing like the store bought ones.

Very pretty cupcakes Got a few (left to right) Top: Red velvet, lemon cheesecake, carrot cake bottom: kids chocolate, strawberry cheesecake, Hoho The bakery was very pretty as well with lots of little cupcakes, a spot for pictures and even other stuff like bath bombs, and sugar scrubs. The staff wasn't super friendly but they did answer my questions. (:

we've gone to dolly cakes for a few family events now so i trusted that things would be good for our gender reveal cake. what we had asked for is not what was received and unfortunately it was a surprise for me so i wasn't able to see the cake before accepting it. i'm so sad and disappointed because this was supposed to be a happy moment for us and they didn't offer to remake it or even offer a portion of the money back after apologizing for misunderstanding and not taking a picture of what we requested. The white cake is the SIMPLE design we asked for without the butterfly. Just white with edible pearls and instead of pink swatches we wanted sage and purple swatches. We ended up with a blackish looking cake :(

Had 3 cupcakes orea and 2 of the vanilla. They where pretty good. Definitely recommend if in the area. Only gripe they ran out of cookies in which I was looking to try some of there cookies. But overall the cupcakes where delicious.
