Fujiyama is great spot to dine at if you're looking to go out with the family. From the moment we stepped through the door, the attentive and accommodating staff made us feel right at home. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the captivating show put on during the cooking process. The anime-themed presentation, particularly the homage to Naruto when lighting the onion on fire, was a hit with both kids and adults alike. The chefs ensured active participation from the customers throughout, adding to the interactive and immersive experience. As for the food, it surpassed all expectations. Each dish was bursting with flavor, leaving us completely satisfied by the end of our meal. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that even the heartiest appetites were thoroughly satiated. If you find yourself in Salinas, I highly recommend making a stop at Fujiyama.

I was stopping through Salinas and got takeout at Fujiyama. The portions were quite small and the tuna wasn’t as great as I had hoped. One of the rolls I got was labeled spicy but it really wasn’t.

Unfortunately I will not return to this restaurant. I wanted to support local businesses so i googled and found Fuyijama served sushi. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon hand roll. I asked the waitress if the hand roll also included avocado and cucumber slice, which she said it did. Well the rolls were incredibly small and the hand roll did not include the avocado and cucumber i was told. The order was also pricey, but i figured I'd get quality and well proportion sized rolls, but not the case. The service was friendly, so give stars for that. Hope there's some positive change @Fuyijama that comes from this review or at best, informative perspective for potential clientele.

First time coming here. I usually go to Benihanas. We decided to give it a try for my Nephews Birthday. It was fun, they had space for all 12 of us. The cooks had great humor and engaged in conversation with us. It was a lot of fun and the food was really good. We will definitely go back another time for sure.

Dinned in on the hibachi side. My servir was Erik. Had to ask for everything twice and then at checked out i was charged less then wat i provided in cash. Called back and spoke with Erik, per Erik he did nothing wrong and got transferred to the manager. Informed them i would go back to the restaurant, once i arrived i was informed they would check the cameras, and mysteriously they found $10 on the trash can but not the rest of the money, i was also informed the cameras did not record me counting the money or getting charged, one of the servers was screaming in Chinese witched is really rude, and i was still questioned by Erik if i counted the money correctly. Was really disappointed at how they stoled money from a customer and how i was questioned, for any exciting costumer double check you money if you paying cash

The fish itself was good. Although I was a little bummed to see the size of some of the rolls I ordered. For instance, the Dynamite roll was a bit deceiving due to the fact that the descriptions says tuna, yellowtail, and spicy sauce. I thought it would be an ordinary roll but was so tiny and shoved into the same to go box as another roll, it also did not come with the spicy sauce unfortunately..there was barely any flavor. I would also like to suggest uploading some pictures of what the rolls look like for those who are ordering takeout

We love the Japanese food at Fujiyama we ordered there all the time since we have been in this area for five years now. Things are getting to be pretty pricey though and to me when you asked for a to go box and they want to charge you extra for it that's excessive. The food is very good. The service good.

The wait is honestly insane. Low staffing and hopefully the hiring management figure it out.

Just ate here and will not be returning. Not only are they expensive but, also cheap. The minute I got to look at the menu, I noticed the prices were a lot. I should have left but instead, I stayed because I was very hungry and didn't want to drive to the next sushi place. My mistake on that.... I ordered my food and waited. I got my food and quickly noticed that their portions were small! I brushed it off because maybe the food was worth it......and it wasn't. The food was either bland or salty. My chicken teriyaki was dry and the sauce was too salty to eat. No thanks. I ordered a roll and their rolls were small! The rolls were bland, not rolled tight. I left hungry and chugging my water before I left. Never again. Also, if you're a tea drinker like me, this isn't the place. No teapot. The only option is by cup, and it's a paper-to-go cup. This place is a total pass.

Food is good. Service was okay. Prices expensive, even for small rolls. What really irked me is the smell of incense burning in the restaurant, part of the Buddhist altar they have. Hard to taste your food with that pervasive smell of incense.

I went there last night for the first time in awhile and I was so disappointed! We were eating on the sushi side. I had to wait for my friends, so I sat at the bar and was never asked if I wanted a drink. When my friends came, we were seated. I ordered tea and it was brought out in a paper cup with a tea bag hanging out of it. I ordered chirashi and the serving was skimpy. The fish was ok. The pickles were inedible, and the rice was not sushi rice. My friend's bento box looked good. The ramen ordered by my other friend was reported to be good, though I noted the egg was hard boiled and not a ramen egg. Something else weird was that utensils and napkins were brought out in a basket and it wasn't clear that's what they were. The place was also loud, even though we weren't in the hibachi side. The worst thing was the restrooms. The plumbing wasn't working right and it smelled like it needed to be cleaned. Worse, the smell emanated into part of the dining room. I don't think I will be returning.
