Always looking for good Chinese food! Haven't been to this one in a long time. Parking is in the back or curbside off a busy N. Main Street. The dining room is spacious, service was quick and friendly. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Salinas changed ownership and stopped serving my favorite egg foo young. I was told this restaurant still prepared it the way I like it and I definitely was not disappointed! I enjoyed a large serving of three foo young patties topped with lots of gravy. Five stars because my old favorite is back! Their menu also included many other dim sum favorites. For good old fashioned Chinese food check out Golden China!

We usually will add tiny bit vinegar and pepper- Fried Chicken Wing- House Special Chow Fun- Walnut Shrimp( should have order a veggie dish but we know that we won't be finish all and at can't it the left over since we are traveling)Their portion of each plate is HUGE!Every dish we ordered we enjoy it so much!Fast and friendly service, clean environment, delicious food !One more happy and satisfied customer I am highly recommended for travelers or local!

Annie and her staff are great. I usually get the Chicken Chow Fun. It is SO good. Everything is always fresh. The chicken is not tough or chewy. Portions are large. You definitely get a good value for your money. I highly recommend!Parking: There's free street parking in front or parking in the lot behind the restaurant. There's a driveway to the side of the restaurant to the driveway. Slow down, or you might miss it! You can also go to the block behind Main St. and enter the parking lot from there.

Found this place doing a tour of Salinas. A place I have not visited in years.Excellent atmosphere. A lot of very good food, served quickly and hot.We got the dinner #3 for 2. If you love left overs that get better the next day, this is a place to go.I will, if I come back to Salinas, definitely visit again.Did I mention, i believe, it was 2016, this place was ranked #8 of 100 best Chinese restaurants in the U.S.?There, I did. I was so happy with my bowl of War Won Ton. I had my eyes roll up and I had happy memories of eating at Golden Star. I swear I could hear Sandy talking away asking about momma and the family. Memories went flashing through my head. Ratatouille?Yea ,food, flavors, memories. Anna was cheerful and made our family of 10 feel like she had been waiting for us, even though we just showed up without any reservations. Sweet and sour chicken was flavorful. Fried Chicken appetizer evaporated. Kung pow chicken packed a good amount of Chile. Chow mainFried rice. Five star rating from everyone at the table.
