We came in to try the crabs and garlic noodles according to KQED ... I can just tell you this is not it. The noodles are dry with no garlic nor butter taste , the crabs taste like any other Chinese restaurants nothing special. Service was ok. Ambiance not much to talk about . We was excited to try the place out since I love seafood....

I love this place. Every time I come here they are so friendly. And their food is truly the best. A fusion of Thai, and Chinese cuisine. My favorite dish is the butter garlic crab with french fries. If you order it with a side of garlic noodles it's truly amazing. Their spicy Fried rice has chicken and shrimp in it and is actually very original in taste. Stephanie and Allie have always treated me well. This place is a gathering point of this particular community and most importantly, it's open very late. When everyone else is closed, this is the place you go to for gourmet food when you don't want to have a slice of pizza or fast food. I have met so many good acquaintances here. And this is where I bring guests that are flying in from out of town first. They are right next to the airport......

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. FU Luke Tsai! My party of 6 (four of us drove down from Marin, 2 up from Cupertino) decided on this place based on an episode of KQED Forum and Luke Tsai's raves about the late night whole Dungeness crab and garlic noodles. As a said note, after parking and while walking to the restaurant we passed by Boiling Bejing (yes, quite the amusing name). Boiling Bejing was packed and no white faces. Experienced lovers of asian food know that this is a good sign. When we got to A One Kitchen and Bar, around 7:45 pm, the place was empty. The ambiance was fine - a full bar and a touch of early '70s tiki vibe. The place was clean and the hostess/waiter friendly and welcoming. We were seated and while waiting for two of our party to arrive decided to order some drinks. It was a cold evening so two of us ordered Irish Coffees. Sad to say but these were the worst Irish Coffees we had ever had. Irish Coffees are basic and easy to get right and these were SO wrong. First, NOT hot, just this side of warm, laughingly weak coffee, canned whipped cream, all in all MEH. Three of us ordered the garlic crab and garlic noodles which is what Luke Tsai had reviewed. So the crab - I was born and raised in the bay area, grew up with and LOVE Dungeness crab. I always get live crabs and cook them myself. Yes, this was okay but not even near great and Dungeness crab should be great. The crab was overcooked, not a lot of meat and overpowered by the massive amount of garlic. Luke Tsai said it was "around $48 with the garlic noodles". This was a total lie! The crab alone was $59 and not remotely worth it. For comparison, live crab at Ranch 99 is currently $5.99/lb. The garlic noodles was a plate of greasy, brown, uninteresting, chewy noodles. The other three people in our party did not like crab (Ha! more for me) so ordered other dishes. Their pot stickers were bland and boring, the chicken and rice dish also bland, boring and crusty; the rice was not fresh. It was so bad I did not taste the other dishes. All in all a very expensive, $332.95, total let down and I will NEVER check out a Luke Tsai recommendation again. Luke you owe me dinner or at the very least an apology.

Garlic crab was delicious, but for close to $60 and doesn't come with any thing else except a few fries feels ridiculous and like a scam to me. Other Food tasted good. There was nothing crazy. The Irish whisky I ordered was not drinkable.

Full bar Asian fusion joint serving traditional dishes?! What's not to love!I really enjoyed the seafood scramble egg chow fun and wings! The crab was tasty also... but you know, you have to work for it We also ordered a soup, but I didn't snap a pic! They have dishes from all sorts of Asian cuisines and have to say, the food we ordered were def on pointFriendly service and food was quick to be served. Overall the restaurant was comfortable... good place to dine with friends and fam.I find that traditional Asian restaurants don't have a full bar, so this was a nice find. We were very pleased with our meal and overall experience... would totally come back my next visit to the bay!

We were the only ones there for the first 45 min or so, until some of the locals came and sat at the bar. The waitress was friendly and recommended some of their popular dishes which were all delicious. The crab was so yum, we ate every last bite and scoop. Will definitely be back!

Watching the balanced NFL game and I am SOo GRATEFUL I decided to treat myself. Thank you to S.F. Gate for the article, I wouldn't have ever known about this gem- The Garlic Crab and garlic noodles did NOT disappoint! I decided to get their Green Veggie Curry as well!!! YUM!!! Allie was super nice and Stephanie the chef is awesome, she even treated me to some Sesame Balls! (I love those)

The noodle soups are delicious! I saw other reviews recommending their thai/malaysian food, so I followed their advice and it paid off. They have some malaysian dishes that I don't see too often and will be back to try. Service was quick and friendly. They have a vast menu and full bar. Highly recommend for a late night bite!

We decided to give this place a try since Chopsticker Lab's restroom is out of order and we always wash our hands before we eat. We were drawn by this place's 4.4-star review so we walked in and found this place has a full bar on the left and some dining tables on the right when we walked inside. We ordered a Thai style noodles with beef, a vegetable spring rolls, and a garlic noodles with beef. Everything was average and not as great as what other reviewers raved about, so it was good to give it a try tonight but there are better options on San Mateo Avenue.

I think the food there is good. Always go for the crab, pot stickers and noodle dishes. Has a full bar as well. Good for late night dinners.
