The menu is amazing and the food was delicious! My sister had the fish and chips she thought it was delicious and fresh as can be! I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and it was amazing, my Aunt had the chicken sandwich as well with side salad and she said the salad was very fresh and delicious as well as her sandwich. Definitely plan on coming back soon!“

“I really felt weird that your waitress, a sweet and beautiful girl makes a disgruntled face and is being sassy. Like she was doing me a favor. No offense, but I came here to enjoy the food and have a good time, not to see why I'm getting a wrinkled forehead and a disgruntled face.“

McGovern's Bar Bar • $$
215 E 4th Ave, San Mateo - 5.21 miles

“Definitely a very casual laid back dive bar! It seems like a lot of locals visit here and the crowd isn't super rowdy, something I'm all for! They don't have food that I know of but so have light snacks in a vending machine. depending on the bartender you can ask for cocktails but beer and easy drinks are a no brainer. It felt super affordable, and big plus that it was so clean. The bar itself is large and very spacious, I'd gladly come back!“

“Pretty cool place to enjoy a local band have a beer and some food. Love the revised patio and beer options. Don't like the crowding at the doorway or the drunken middle aged women who are quite unpleasant. Especially the ones seated at a doorway blocking entry outside being a fire hazard.“

Paddy Flynn's Irish Pub • $
246 Lorton Ave, Burlingame - 6.79 miles

“This bar is both charming and fun. Monica is the best bartender I've had. She will make any drink requested, with ease. She makes a killer espresso Martini! If you're in the area and need a pick me up, this is your place! The ambiance and fun is well worth the price you pay. Coke to Paddy Flynn's for a good time“

“Honestly, as a beginning patron at this establishment, I found the size and friendliness of this Irish pub substantially welcoming ??(that's a two thumbs up). Surviving the restrictions of covid, we all had to make allowances regarding dining. So getting there with some streets still blocked off in San Mateo(to better the businesses survival of our industries) it may take you a few twists and turns to get there so DON'T GIVE UP if your GPS tells you to take a turn and you find it has blockades... Just go another block or two down and you'll find yourself on the right street. Parking is a little strained... But the secret is there a little alley directly across the street from the front door and there's a number of slots avail at NO COST! On Tuesday nights they have an amazing kareoke event, but be prepared to get on the waiting list as my last experience it was pretty much packed... Which I dig cuz the audience participation was like a community. The bartender ALWAYS replaced your glass with a fresh chilled pint glass when you're trying one of their many flavors of draught on tap and was always on duty ready to serve his patrons. Friendly, warm and inviting. I take enjoyed myself and have returned since then. Prices are very fair. I suggest trying the Cali Squeeze on tap on a hot summer day. The essence of orange infused with a malt beverage is so refreshing on a warm day and doesn't seem so heavy when you're hot. I'll be returning.“
