My grandparents ate here once a week for twenty years or so. This is one of our families' favorite restaurants. They offer meals that I haven't found anywhere else: ruby chicken, house special chicken, and their special ice cream. The staff are excellent, too.

Finally getting around to a review on this place! I moved to San Clemente in December so my boyfriend and I were in search of a yummy Chinese spot. We tried this place and fell in love! We usually order the sweet and sour soup, honey walnut shrimp, BBQ pork chow mein and the orange chicken. Quite the order but the good thing is this food stays delicious for days on end, making for the best leftovers! I'm pretty sure it's the owner I talk to every time I pick up my order. He is very sweet and always gives me this orange jelly dip (not sure of the name) to make my food a little less spicy since I'm sensitive to spice in the orange chicken. Highly recommend this spot and I can't wait until they open inside.

Keep in mind, I went on Labor Day since my favorite Chinese place is closed for the holiday and this was the only place in San Clemente that was open on the holiday. $9.45 for the lunch special that doesn't have soup to go which is an additional money if you want soup. Also, there's no choice of two or more items or gonna cost you more. I got the hot and sour soup, it was decent but I wouldn't go back for it. Sure the plate of lunch was a hefty size, the fried rice was so dried and seasoning were too salty. Kung Pao Chicken had a chili symbol on the menu, but it's just a couple of dried chili in the mix, not spicy at all and I had to add my own hot sauce (2x nuclear sauce bottle, which y'all can get on amazon or H-Mart).Services was awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. Would I come back? I don't know. Maybe when dining room is back open, then it's the bang for the buck on the lunch specials.

We moved to San Clemente two years ago and just tried this place. WOW!! This absolutely the best Chinese food we have had in years. There was line out the door to pick up food and the owners were SO nice and knew everyone in line by name. This place is a true gem!

The Hot and Sour soup was good. We ordered Special Beef, Sesame Chicken and an appetizer. From the time we opened the bag, the fish smell nearly knocked us over. The sesame chicken was obviously cooked in fish oil. After the soup we tried the two main courses, threw them away--including outside to the trash and then had to run the dishwasher to get rid of the smell.
Excellent food and great quality. We got dinner for 4 with extra fried rice and appetizers. We selected the two dinner combos and there was plenty of food. We ordered around 6PM Friday night and had food by 7PM. The price averaged $18 per person. Plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

Love China Well! We truly care for & love the employees of this restaurant who go out of their way to treat everyone very kindly. This has been our favorite restaurant for over 6 years & is even more of a favorite since COVID began a year ago. They have the safest methods of picking up food during a pandemic & it is very much appreciated, as many restaurants in this town make customers plow through people waiting in line to order, which we won't do.

This was one of our favorite restaurants before quarantine & it is even more of a favorited now for how they have kept themselves & customers safe. I very much appreciate that they were one of the first restaurants to begin wearing masks & constructing take out so that it is safe, especially for elders, to go & pick up their food.
