Best sushi ever!!!!!!! Everything was so incredibly tasty and fresh. Go. Go now. I wish I lived here so I could come to this place all the time :'''(

Best sushi around!! Always fresh! Delicious rolls that are different from anywhere else. All the employees are sweethearts plus such hard workers. Cat, Skinny, Penny the absolute best. I almost hate to post this review because it's crowded enough but we'll deserved.

NOT RECOMMEND! They offer things for free and then charge you in the end. The waitress offered us avocado for free, we doubled check if it will cost something, cause we actually didn’t want it, and when the bill came she started yelling to my husband saying that she didn’t offered for free. Not trustful at all. It wasn’t because of the price, but about lack of honesty. Plus…they said we weren’t locals “that’s why”. We were in a group of 5 and they didn’t want to charge us separately (it was mentioned at the beginning and they said yes), but they treated us bad about it in the end. Answering them “yes, it was the first time and last”.

Don't usually leave reviews and know that this won't really do much. Good sushi and decent atmosphere but I won't be stepping foot in here again. The same waitress now has made inappropriate comments and questions to me twice now. Today after a long tiring day parenting and working I wanted sushi. I get that it's not really a kid friendly restaurant. My husband being kind says he's going to walk a couple doors down and grab something to go there while I eat a quick roll at the sushi bar. I sit down and while I'm eating she comes up to me and says "where's your husband?" I said a couple doors down. She goes "ohhhh :(" and frowns. I wish I would have said none of your business but I didn't think to. The other time she made a comment to me about him and I taking turns walking him to sleep (this was back in the day when they had outdoor patio) I can't remember verbatim but it's obvious she feels that the husband should not be doing any sort of helping. That's fine if that's your value but don't project it on customers just trying to eat sushi? Very annoying and uncomfortable!

Talk about dishonesty!!!! Please if your customer asks your server 8 TIMES if X item is going to be charged or NOT, make sure you follow up with what you said. DO NOT charge for what you promised to be free or included. Very disappointing experience for the lack of honesty for your server. Do not recommend.

Reviewed this restaurant when they first opened and told all my friends best sushi in San Clemente. Last night, Saturday night, arrived at 8 pm with an out of town friend to take her to dinner. Was told that they were closed. The sign said they close at 8:30 which is insane on a Saturday night. Rude lady: Closed. Come back tomorrow. Me: It is only 8. Her: We have had our last seating. There were two tables that were fininshing up. 8pm on a Saturday. SMH My friend: Can we get food to go? Rude lady: Well, it will be 30 minuntes. Me: Can we come in and sit at a table and wait for our to go order and buy a beer? Rude lady: No. What is wrong with you? Are you okay? Are you drunk? You need to have compassion for the employees. Hello? Don't your employees like to earn money? I own a small business and if she talked to a customer that way, I'd fire her. Is she an owner? If so, must not need business. If no, she should be reprimanded big time. Just awful treatment and embarressing in front of visitor who I had talked this place up to. But we walked up the street and around the corner to Brick. Which was just fabuous. Food is so good and fresh. The owner gives recommendations and told us he grows the produce and makes the red pepper mix. I don't even like Ceasear salad but there's is insanely good. So glad we didn't eat at Muse after all.

My family and I go to Muse literally every Wednesday we love the staff and the food is out of this world. Everyone is so nice and we always look forward to the whole experience. Order anything on the menu and you'll be so happy! I love the Randy roll and the to die for hand roll!

This is a busy little sushi place at the heart of old town San Clemente-even on a Tuesday night. We entered our data for a table, expect to wait for at least 30 minutes. We were happy that we were offered a table at the sushi bar after about ten minutes. It's always alarming to see restaurants trying to be cute with names of the dishes. This is especially true for Asian restaurants. I could not find rainbow roll (my testing dish for Sushi restaurants) on the menu. So we asked the person next to us what was she having. At the end we ordered Mellow yellow and kicker roll. First, Mellow yellow is too sweet because it has mango and sweet sauce. I could hardly notice of there were any fish on it. Second, the kicker (supposed to be very spicy but it's not) had good flavor but the fish slices are on the scant side. I think overall the dining experience was pretty good. The sushi had good presentation but taste was not impressive.

Meh, not bad but not amazing. I was expecting really good because supposedly this is the best sushi in the San Clemente area so our expectations were high. My husband and I had tried to come here previously when we were in San Clemente and turns out they were closed randomly. That was disappointing but then now that we came back to dine in, we're glad to have been able to experience it but don't feel the need to come back. The wait seemingly gets long but thankfully we went straight at opening so we were seated right away. There is supposedly a time limit on how long you can dine in because it's such a small restaurant with long waits that you're not able to exceed an hour once seated. They seem to take this seriously as when we were dining, a customer was seated and his wife wasn't there yet and he was told that the time is pretty much starting now on the limit and so he should either order first or wait until his wife comes to sit... And to be honest, the guy was giving the server a hard time about it, but it also wasn't crowded at that time we were there and so I didn't feel it was necessary to do that to him either. Idk restaurant rules I guess.. We ordered a good amount of sushis as we normally would at our regular spot back home and although it was good, it wasn't as amazing as expected for the best sushi in San Clemente - we heard that from many people. The ladies working were very friendly though and attentive, but maybe to make sure we were done eating within our time limit because we were definitely reminded by letting us know if we wanted to order anything else because we were getting close to the hour mark lol

4 stars for the food. 1 star for the overall experience. We were told it would be 20 minutes for a table of 5. Awesome. We joined the waitlist and walked around the surrounding shops. A little over 40 minutes we finally get a message saying our table is ready. The inside is very very small and for what ever reason we had 3 women waiting on our table at once. We were literally surrounded by the whole staff and it was super overwhelming and made us feel extremely rushed making us order almost on the spot. The woman taking the our order was very nice and made some recommendations. Portions were nice. Very large pieces. Much much larger than your standard sushi. What was insane was that it took 48 (!!!) minutes to get our first plate for the table. Not even the bull or the order, just one plate. The rest came out over the next 5-10 minutes. There were 3 groups that sat way after us getting their entire order, paying/leaving, and another party sat and we're fed before we even got the first plate. Then because it was a weekend we were only allowed to have the table for an hour. So after 48 minutes of waiting I had 2 different waitresses to remind me that we only had less 10 minutes left for the table. So what we need to hork down $150 worth of sushi in less than 10 minutes?!!!!!????? Absolutely ridiculous. I'm always a very generous tipper especially since I've worked in a restaurant before but knowing most of it was going to the wait staff really killed my generosity. If I ever come back (which I doubt it, you can get the same quality just a 5 minute walk up the street) I'll be sure to just tip the chef directly.

We typically order for pick up. Takes about 45 minutes and worth the wait. My wife cannot get enough of the Love at First Bite but we love it all. Spicy Miso is sooooo good! Fresh, fresh, fresh! Muse has never gotten our order wrong. It's a staple in SC...

ONG! This place is AWESOME. The owners & staff are super friendly. The sushi is the best we've had and we love sushi & trying new sushi places. This is our FAVE spot. We drive there from Upland. THE PRICES ARE SUPER! The beer is super cold. Definitely recommend this place to EVERYONE. It is really small inside though. Sit at the bar that is the best place.:))

1/ 10 experience sushi was mediocre. The second we came into the restaurant the woman told us that we could only be there for an hour. Shortly after after taking a while to get our food sushi had no flavor. The yellowtail in the mellow yellow tasted like rice and seaweed. Service didn't acknowledge that I was a human being at all me no conversation just spoke directly about what we wanted and then went for it. Very disappointed with my experience after I saw that in the San Clemente news website it said that they were the best sushi bar in town I expected so much better. Never coming here again I will eat at San Clemente sushi company name wow they have good jalapeño poppers and golden roll.
