Why 5 stars? First this is a sweetheart of family run restaurants and while small and quaint, has great value, super food and a great selection from start to finish. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

This is an unassuming place that has great food. It doesn't look much from the outside. It was packed on the inside. We chose to eat at one of the 2 tables outside. Service was very good. Nice friendly employees that appreciate your business.

I had dinner somewhere else and I was walking and I stop there and ask for Coffee and dessert we ordered cheesecake it was so delicious and I was so regret didn’t have my dinner there I felt food is going to be amazing there and I planned to go back for following weekend I still cannot get over the taste of cheesecake and amazing coffee I send my friend there and she had food there and she told me it was so delicious and she want to go back again ❤️ I highly recommend this restaurant

Five of us celebrating a couple of family birthdays on a Saturday evening. Small place that seats maybe two dozen, so not noisy at all. Beer and wine only with a pretty limited selection. Food includes Moroccan selections but also many mainstream entrees and specials. I had the Moroccan curry, a chicken breast in a mild curry sauce atop a bed of rice. Wife had the hangar steak which she said was excellent. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert was heavy and rich. Service was great and kitchen is only ten feet away.

My husband and I held our Son's Rehearsal Dinner here on November 10, 2022, and it was absolutely fabulous! We had about 40 people in attendance and they closed the restaurant for our Party. We chose the set meal options and all of the food was really wonderful! We had open bottles of wine placed on the tables and flowers, with lovely white table cloths. The Bride and Groom were seated together so all could see them. The ambiance was perfect and the owner and waitstaff were so very attentive. The meal, atmosphere, desserts, and service could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed a perfect evening and will remember our time here with great fondness, appreciation, and joy. This restaurant really went above and beyond what we expected. Truly a memorable evening was had by all! The Bride and Groom were so happy! We are very grateful to have had such a special memory created by this truly exceptional restaurant.

I have to rate The Mediterranean Rim on Del Mar 5Stars. Their food is Always consistent, and always consistently delicious. Such a cute and cozy place. Its our favorite “date night” restaurant in town. I personally Love the goat cheese salad, Squash Soup, Skirt Steak, Fish, ?Wine sections are great, and the sauces they create are fantastic. Must add the best homemade cheesecake for desert. Thank you.

Food: 10/10 Service: consistent, and constantly delicious. Ambiance: cozy and a great date night restaurant. The food is fantastic: the sauces make the dishes even better. I love the goat cheese salad, home made soups, fish, steaks, Spanish red wines and their homemade cheesecake is a must try for desert. All I have to say is Wow . Thank you Mediterranean Rim.

Horrible customer service, Do not stop at this restaurant. The way they treat their customers is disguisting. American host that was at the front of the Restaurant was the worst. The worst customer service ever. I asked If I could use the restroom with a purchase and associate said no because of my physical and my english accent.
The oso buco was so good on Saturday night that we went back a week later to have it again. Wine list is great. Service was great. This place is a gem. It is now my new favorite restaurant

We happened upon this place and I'm so glad we did! Absolutely incredible food, vibe and service. My husband had the tagin lamb stew which was complex in its spices and delicious to the last drop. The home made gnocchi and crusted goat cheese salad were superb as was the ginger mascarpone cheesecake for desert. Our plates were practically licked clean, every one of them. We love coming to San Clemente for weekends, but don't love the upscale pretentiousness. This place was authentic, welcoming, and not overpriced. A true gem. Compliments to the chef!

I was in the neighborhood and saw a cute dog outside under the table. The couple said the food was great. They were definitely not correct. It's just average and the service is so slooowwwww! They need more than 1 waiter and less tables in the tiny space. I bumped my leg trying to squeeze by 2 chairs and I'm pretty small. Now for the food review. Chicken schwarma was bland but bf liked his pita more than the chicken. The hummus was average. The Mediterranean salsa was better but not special. My seafood dish cooked in a flavorful red sauce but a tiny portion full of leftover fish. 2 shrimp in the entire tiny dish and the salmon wasn't that fresh. I definitely would not order this again. I was disappointed in my choice. Sorry peeps!
