The best place to get Thai food in San Diego. The flavors in their curry are so rich and the rice, meat, and veggies are always fresh. If your looking for a quick snack, don’t miss their savory, homemade egg rolls.

The soups were delicious(I got both), edamme was yummy too. I feel like the pad thai didn't have much flavor other than spice. Reasonably priced and everything tasted fresh. But I don't think I'll order here again.

I love 55 Thai! My go to place for lunch. I usually get the drunken noodles with shrimp and tom yum noodle soup. Great service and food is fresh & excellent. So yummy!

Tired and wanting good food, our hopes were high. Simple order Pad Tai chicken & beef. The noodles were greasy - but the worst part was that the meat was very dry and off color. It seemed like the meat was quite old - warmed up and added... The spring rolls were ok but $35 was not worth it. (I will add that the service was good)

As tourists after visiting Balboa Park, I searched for a nearby Thai place and this showed up on Maps. The surrounding area is not comfortable to be in after the sun sets. My suggestion is head to the Gaslamp Quarter. Food here is just OK. Pad Thai was $10, +$2 for shrimp. Very limited menu. No Pad See Ew, or basil ground pork with fried egg rice items common at authentic Thai places. The Thai Tea was not good.

Not open when it says they're open. Horrible service. Came here starving and was highly disappointed

Fast casual Thai food spot in Downtown San Diego. Thai Iced Tea: We ordered two Thai Iced Teas, one with Boba and one without. The Thai tea was good and not too sweet for our taste! However, the boba was awful - the pearls were really hard. Pad Thai: Sweet and umami from the fish sauce. The dish came with a large lemon slice which added acidity to the dish. Drunken Noodles: Sweet with fish and oyster sauce flavors. There were a lot of veggies in the dish.

Winter is here

Food is pretty good. The floors and tables were really dirty. Food on the tables and certain amounts of trash, dirt, etc on the floors.

This was such a gem to find. The chicken ginger stir fry is the. best. thing. on the menu!!! I had it twice in one visit to downtown San Diego!

So happy to have found this spot! Curry done right and soo tasty. Tom Kha soup was delicious. Really great prices and clean restaurant. I've tried so many places and not impressed with what's around the area. I'm grateful to find a good Thai food place. Finally!

It was a Rainy day, we were moving our son to a nearby apartment building, lunch time started craving for Thai food! Googled and found this place 4 blocks away! Went for the first time and was amazed by the warmth of the guy who was taking our order(sorry forgot to ask his name) but he made some good suggestions and the food was absolutely delicious!!? Will go again!!?Ordered Tom kha soup( so yummy) drunken noodles and the house curry Chicken (so delicious!) ❤️?? Thankyou.

It certainly wasn’t bad food or ingredients. It just was kinda bland and some of the least impressive Thai food I’ve had. All of the normal mix of flavors was missing.

This place would get a good rating for the food if the service wasn’t so bad. I’m fine with waiting around while you complete every order in front of me before taking my order. Was fine with your helping a couple that was there before me, even though they weren’t in line. I thought it was nice that you took the order of the person after me instead of making them wait as long as I did. What wasn’t okay is that my order wasn’t even started until after the guy in front of me (who ordered a stir fry vs my curry) was served his food and left. Maybe you don’t think it matters to the person you overlook, that person you don’t care about. I’m glad you have more customers than you want because I’m the customer that won’t ever be back; there are places out there that will treat me like I matter to them in ways that you don’t, and I’d rather give them my money.

Easily one of the best quick food options in downtown San Diego. Delicious light Tom Kha soup, and heavier but delightfully rich house special (i forget the real name) chicken curry. Perfectly slow-cooked chicken, delicious curry sauce, not very spicy. Nice interior, nice staff.

Massaman Curry was so so. Real Thais use diced chicken, not shredded, and they actually cut their vegetables instead of including one massive piece of potato.Further, the prices on Chow Now are higher than the prices in the actual restaurant. Not sure if that's just how Chow Now works, but yeah.
