Visiting nearby from Honolulu. Was hungry after enjoying the UCSD WOW festival. Stopped into Balboa's for a quick peek at the NCAA Men's final 4. Special was Chicken Shawarma with fries for 12 bucks. Large portion great fries. Was surprised how tasty and clean-tasting the food was...Extensive Beer selection on tap was great. Service was friendly and attentive, especially Aidan and Kory. Aidan is hysterical with a grand sense of humor...hoping to return before I head home. The local and friendly atmosphere not what I was expecting nor how many people were there as appeared to be a complete hole-in-the wall. Delighted to learn a family run establishment...no corporate stuff here...Check Balboa's Tap House out. Nothing fancy but a great value.

Stumble upon this place after work, looking for some quick bite and cold drink. Very friendly service and chill vibe with 32 craft beers on tap. I was here for their Wednesday wing night and the wings were super flavorful and not dry at all; multiple flavors available. Will definitely come back for another post work relaxation.

I come here when waiting for my car to be repaired at PepBoys nearby. It's the best way to spend the wait time. I plan for Mondays when they have the $8 cheeseburger and fries and $5 any pint deal. Really good burger and fries.

You can easily have a conversation at your table without the need to raise your voice. They have weekly specials and the service is great.Parking: The parking lot is part of a shopping center which has a convenient store, Balboa Tap House, a sign maker, Sprouts, and a automotive parts store. Everyone shares parkingWheelchair accessibility: This place is located in a shopping center with wheelchair accessibility through the shopping center area. The entrance to the building is low and no impedance should occur when using a wheelchair. The Balboa Tap has multiple tables which could accommodate a wheelchair.

Really miss the trivia night, we used to go out for Moms night out and it was a lot of fun.Vegetarian options: I have a friend that comes who is vegan. There are a couple things on the menu that she can eat that she enjoys.Kid-friendliness: I have brought my kids here and were easily able to find something to eat. They don't necessarily have a "kid" menu.

Love the gyros tacos on Tuesday for $5! Haven't tried the chicken or beef tacos because I love the gyros but I'm sure they are just as great! They also give you a side of rice which is really good.Wasn't drinking because I have to drive tonight but they have a margarita special and some beer on special too.Lots of TVs to watch sports!I wish they would still have the Two Pitchers Orange Blood/ Grapefruit Beer! It's my favorite and everyone I tell about it likes it! Very refreshing! You should get it in again!Our server Aiden was great! I was with an elderly friend and he had a lot of patience with her. And I really appreciated his kindness.Thank you!

I have probably come to this spot once a year the past few years and each time there's some new upgrades! They have a pretty wide and decent selection of beers and wine, good American and middle eastern fusion bar food, a lot of TVs broadcasting different sports, and now their latest upgrade is a full bar!! With all that said, I can see my friends and I making this a regular spot to watch basketball games. The staff has always been friendly and I can see how well they interact with the regulars. I love the sports bar environment, variety of food and drinks, and proximity to my house so I look forward to coming more often!
