Why am I now finding out about this place? The crawfish etouffe with the alligator sausage was delicious. It was my first time ever having an alligator, and I have no complaints. I didn't feel the meat was too tough, and it was well seasoned. It went well with the Dupont Saison Belgian ale recommended to me by the waiter. I, of course, let my eyes do the talking instead of my stomach with limited room and got the beignets. I told myself to eat one and save the rest for tomorrow. After the first bite, my brain came to two conclusions: 1) These won't taste as delicious as they do now, tomorrow morning. 2) We have to make room for 4 beignets in our stomach. I did. I have to come back here the next time I'm in San Diego.

The service was 10/10. The waiter recommended different things to enhance the food that was already delicious! Never had southern seafood this way and I will being going back to try more on their menu!

Great variety of Nawlin's soul food. This place is legit! I found it as I was looking for lunch options while on business at the Westin. I had the red beans and rice, as well as the fried catfish. Ramoulade was the bomb! Jalapeño tartar sauce is on point too! Ordering bread pudding to go but this is a hidden gem you all should try. Small place, so come early to get your eat on!

Best southern food I’ve found that wasn’t located in the south.

I ordered delivery. But still this was amazing. Everything was so yummy. I highly recommend the taste of new Orleans. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.

Pleasant and accommodating host and server. Best crawfish etoufee and shrimp & grits with a tasty cream sauce which was a nice change from the regular red sauce. There was a little bit of a wait and it seemed to us there was room to place two additional tables for two without being claustrophobic. Wishing you continued success.

Incredible, wait staff is so sweet, the decor and atmosphere is simple and warm, and the food was beyond. I wanted to try everything on the menu, and all the food that came out for the other tables looked delicious. I ordered the shrimp creola and my husband got the red beans and rice. Both were perfectly seasoned, hearty, but also light at the same time. Such a perfect meal

Great food and service. We are loyal customers and have never been disappointed with anything here. I had the blackened catfish served on top of a scrumptious rice pilaf. This is the best catfish dish I've eaten anywhere. My husband raved about his cajun jambalaya. We'll be back again for sure.

Delicious and flavorful food (recommend the blackened catfish etouffee with crawfish and the iced tea). Loved the ambiance- was a good noise level and a good place if you want to sit down and relax and be able to have a nice conversation. Service was quick and responsive as well. Definitely will be coming back.

Every time we come to San Diego we go here for a meal. Took some Canadian friends here last time; they had never had this type of food. Both plates licked clean was their vote!

Food was amazing. Though stomachs were full, we wanted to taste the whole menu at once.....guess we will have to come back in stretchy pants

I'm so so glad I found this place while on my visit to SD! Came here with my bf for dinner and everything on the menu sounded amazing but I opted for the Mardi Gras pasta and my bf got the Cajun Jambalaya dish. I'm not gonna lie the Mardi Gras pasta was one of the best dishes Iv ever had it was so good and flavorful I ate that whole plate without taking a breather. Just couldn't put my fork down. The service was also very good no complaints there. Food came out at a decent time as well, smaller place so get there at a decent time it got busy after like 5:30ish!!! I'll come back!
