Possibly our favorite calamari. Fresh squid lightly battered still tender with a crispy edge. The squid ink tagliatelle with pink sauce was al dente and shrimp was plump.Service was polite. The atmosphere was relaxed and airy for an outside patio.

My family and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We started off ordering a starter or calamari. Then I ordered white sauce pasta with ham inside a parmesan cheese bowl. My family ordered the Tagliatelle Al Nero Di Seppia which is hand cut black squid-ink fettuccine in a spicy pink sauce with shrimp and Ravioli Di Granchio which is handmade half-moon shaped ravioli filled with crab meat, in a lobster cream sauce.

Ate at the bar which worked out OK. While sitting, our table became available and we made the decision not to move. Apps and salads were good, main was great going down, not so good coming back up a few hours later. It was the crab meat ravioli- while eating the 1st one noticed it was too salty and way too fishy. Thought I'd try a 2nd and right after that 1st bite I knew there was something wrong. I just told the bartender I didn't like the taste and didn't make a big deal of it. He offered to remove it from the bill but I insisted he leave it. He then comped us each a glass of wine. Really nice guy, helpful but we did feel we were second fiddle to his bar duties. Can't lay blame on that. I'm positive I'm a blip on the radar since so many of my friends rave about this place. Just my review of this recent experience.

Jeff, our server was absolutely amazing! My friend and I had dinner there and they were so nice to split two of the dishes so both of us could have a little bit of everything. The service was fantastic and the food was even better! You can tell that the pasta is made fresh in house. The plating was beautiful and every bite was absolutely amazing! I have been a chef for over 15 years and this is hands-down some of the best food I've had in San Diego. The price was also superb given the quality of food and portions. I would recommend this restaurant time and time again whether you are a local or visiting.

Wow !!! Fantastic Italian restaurant. Nice setting. Indoor and outdoor seating. The food is amazing and everything on the menu is homemade, including the Sorbetto.

The service her is amazing. This is the sister restaurant to Monello, which is next door. We were promptly seated upon arrival. We made our reservation online. We ordered short rib with spaghetti, crab ravioli, calamari and the special of the week- because we wanted to try the iconic Parmesan cheese wheel. The pasta for the cheese wheel changes weekly. The food was delicious, made fresh and with high qualify ingredients. Great ambience. Very beautiful, inviting, modern decor. Average portion sizes. Authentic Italian food.
