We only had the ricotta toast, which was good, but if you don’t like a lot of olive oil be weary, lol. Coffee was great, especially their seasonal drinks.

Located on Adams Avenue, this coffee shop has patio seating. You stand in a line and order your drinks and food. They have some pastries, sandwiches, and toast options along with a variety of cold brew, hot coffee, and tea. They have a handicap accessible bathroom.

This is one of the cutest and most cozy cafes I have been to in SD. I wish the coffee menu was a little more expansive. however, the items they do have are absolutely delicious.

i was torn between giving this place 4 or 5 stars because their coffee/food and atmosphere knocks it out of the park, but their service is a little weird sometimes. i go here regularly for their tartines and have tried some other small plates on their menu. their flavor profiles, quality of ingredients, small variety of seasonal, but interesting options definitely keeps me coming back. there’s a lot of thought put behind the items on their food menu. additionally, their coffee is usually delightful. i’ve been in the coffee industry for 11 years and feel like i know how to spot a good cup. they use provecho roasters, a local roaster from san diego who does a phenomenal job from a roasting standpoint, so their sourcing is once again really great as reflected in their food ingredients. this roaster is palatable, never over roasts (sorry if you like darker roasts!), and offers very thoughtful selections of coffee. if you order milk based espresso drinks (i.e. cortados, cappuccinos, lattes), your beverage will range from decent to wonderful depending on the barista. the patio is so sweet and usually filled at peak hours on the weekend, so i suggest planning ahead to come here. now for service… as per any coffee shop, you can run into the barista that comes off as too cool for you every now and then, but on average they’re approachable enough and more times than not you can tell they are interested in making sure you have a good experience. there have been a couple of off-comments made or uncomfortable interactions that i can only deduce as some general individual awkwardness or service fatigue. the service doesn’t really strike me as anything special, but i am grateful for the couple of people they have on their team who really know their stuff and i have observed are diligently training the rest of the team. i gave this place five stars because despite smaller bumps in the road, i keep coming back and just love this place and the intentionality that’s put behind it. it’s a breath of fresh air in the industry and i’m really rooting for them to expand their business in all ways in the future. keep up the good work and thank you for bringing such a lovely spot to normal heights!

Bica is a refreshing breath amongst the other San Diego coffee shops and cafes. The staff are incredible, kind and thoughtful. The food is so good - sourced fresh and the “bread/toast” is some of the best I’ve had from around the world. A perfect spot for a light bite or a coffee.

It’s mainly outdoor space! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was cool. Just be aware of coming here on a hot day ?No plugs here, so if you want a place to plug your devices, this isn’t the spot!Otherwise I’d recommend this place ???

I have been here a handful of times and have never had a problem. Unfortunately today I purchased iced coffee and a egg tart and was given a burnt egg tart. I didn’t realize till I was already home . The cashier forgot to put my cup for the barista to make. I waited for a while before being asked if I was waiting on something else. Was given my coffee after waiting and you could tell it was made rush due to lack of taste.

Great espresso! Even though busy, got my shot pretty quick, welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, they didn't have the "Nata", perhaps next pit stop I get lucky. ?

Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.

Was strolling through the neighborhood and saw this highly recommended coffee spot. Didn't realize it was one of my bucket list items until I walked in LOL. I was instantly drawn to the orange cardamom latte. It was super sweet (which I like) with subtle orange and cardamom flavors. I personally like the orange to be on the stronger more noticeable side, but will say this was a good latte. Place has outdoor seating and a few indoor seating. Service was good and quick.

Food was really delicious and yummy. There's a nice outdoor seating area to get some vitamin D. It gets packed, but with some patience you'll find a table. I had the smoked lox with an iced latte, both were really good. The plates are nice portion and can be shareable. Staff are really kind as well.

Went for the coffee and pastries, in love for the sandwich! Ordered a veggie sandwich and that was the most juiciest and tastiest sandwich I've had in a while. Like it packs a punch to the flavor! And this was a veggie sandwich too.Plain Americano was tasty, so a great coffee spot for sure. The egg custard tart things. Perfection as well. Super flaky and moist at the same time. Cookies were pretty good. This spot knows how to balance texture and flavors really well.Highly recommend to go on a warm sunny day since most of the seating is on the outdoor patio. If you get there past 0930on a weekend, there will be a line, if you're okay with that.Very attentive and friendly staff. Definitely coming back with friends.
