One of the greatest restaurant in San Diego. A French gem serving real French food. The ambience is warm, and the staff makes you feel special with great attention to details, to comfort. We have never had a wrong evening there. If you celebrate your birthday whoever you are a regular or not, there is a free dessert. Not all restaurants can pretend to such a treat. Crispy epis baguette and butter balls are served for free too at each table. The bar is amazing, it is intimate and welcoming. Thank you for being consistent, hard working, welcoming and we can feel all of this. Thank you for bringing your support to schools, and other great organizations the way you do it. You brought so much to this community.

Anti Jewish and Israel stance very disappointing. Will not go there. Businesses have to have moral charqcter.

Very authentic French dishes, the service is very efficient and the food is outstanding. I am a pretty tough critic and the Bistro hits all the marks. We visited on a busy Saturday in March and even at full capacity the service was excellent. We had the Cassoulet and Branzino and had a special dessert of filo pastry with apples and pears, tres bon!My only complaint is that the tables are very close together and the noise level is high.

It’s so nice to come to a place with amazing food and amazing service. For us it was a special occasion, we aren’t used to this level of attention and care in any establishment! Even not being their regular crowd, everyone treated us with respect and was very welcoming. We started with the pâté (delicious), then we had duck confit and the rabbit (delicious), and finished with crème brûlée. Can you guess how it was? Delicious!Thank you to all your staff for giving us a great experience on our anniversary. We can’t wait to come back again.

Wonderful genuine French Bistro. So many dishes we wanted to try! Everything was very well prepared and delicious. The room is nicely decorated, not too loud. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had the opportunity to talk to the Chef and she walked us through all the desserts on their menu. We felt their price was reasonable for the quality of the food. We highly recommend it and we would love to go back.

This was our first visit to Bistro Du Marché. We booked it for a pre-Conrad meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We enjoyed the endive salad, the coq au vin, and the duck confit. Everything was prepared beautifully and the courses came out right on time. The server was friendly and helpful in answering our questions. A wonderful evening!

Server was knowledgeable about the cheeses. Apps & duck confit were good. Second entree was cold. They just heated it some how and put a sloppy plated dish with bites taken out of it. You trash the bad plate and present a new hot one. What was supposed to be a great anniversary dinner out turned into a sour note. Maitre d' was offended over the complaint and "kindly" took the entree off bill. Then the entire staff ignored us. There are plenty of other good restaurants that I would spend my money at. Such a disappointment

Onion soup excellent and filling. Martini excellent Profiterols excellent Pheasant hard to put my head around the taste, too many conflicting vegetables competing with the filling. Rhone red wine went very well with above.

Jean Michel Diot keeps the highest standards. Excellent for a French getaway in San Diego. Chef Amelie, your crab salad is so good. Beautiful service as well and our waiter Thomas was super nice.

Wonderful night celebrating my daughter‘s birthday. Our table outside was kept warm with the heater and we had a great private conversation. The floating island is a fantastic desert and Bronzino is a big winner for main course. Skip the Coq as the chicken was not the best.

We had high expectations and we were a bit disappointed overall. We ate inside on a cold night and our table had a cold wind from the outside when the door kept on opening. Very noisy inside! The food was good but not fantastic.

We had an excellent dinner at Bistro du Marche. For appetizers we had escargot and the Brie. Both were excellent. The Brie had two Brie wrapped in flaky light dough, so it was perfect for us to share. Between the four of us, we had pheasant, the filet and the boar with pasta. All were delicious! The pasta was more boar and vegetables than pasta which was perfect. My husband said the pheasant was the best entree he had tried there. We split a crème brûlée for dessert. That was enough for the 4 of us since we stuffed ourselves with appetizers and entrees! The restaurant is somewhat loud, but we were able to carryon conversations without much difficulty. The service is excellent. We never had a finished plate in front of us for long, we were checked in regularly and the suggestions and explanations about menu options were spot on. We will return on a Tuesday so we can get moules and frites!

This is an excellent restaurant in La Jolla. It is an authentic bistro with a broad menu of options, excellent wine, superb bread and delicious food. The service is always very good.

Very reminiscent of brasseries in Paris. Gracious and excellent service. Everything we ordered was outstanding, staying true to French cuisine. Will definitely frequent this restaurant again.

Bistro du Marche has the best French food in San Diego! The menu has traditional dishes as well as unique items that aren't found elsewhere. Sitting outside feels just like being in a neighborhood Parisien restaurant.
