Not kid friendly as they claim. Tried going to a UFC fight and it is 21 years of age only. Tried contacting the owner via yelp and instead of contacting me back to fix any issues being broadcasted to the public "someone" in the community had reported me and had my question removed. The food there honestly sucks, barely any flavor. The bar drinks are the only good thing. The bar staff know how to treat the customers when it comes to pouring. Place is always dingy and dirty, looks like it hasn't been dusted in forever. The person answering the phone seemed she didn't want to address any issues and had low customer service. One time when I had my food brought, waitress took forever to come check in on us, or to bring us our check. Wish there was another bar next to Cheetahs instead, maybe one day.

Fun atmosphere, good food, great service! Lots of televisions if you go for sports! Highly recommend!

Chicken soup was awesome, great atmosphere, only downside was my server was more interested in talking to the regulars than serving. Would go back and sit in another section. Recommend

The Bullpen has been my and my friends go-to place for several years to watch sports especially Aztecs basketball & football or back in the day SAN DIEGO Chargers football. However, as a Sports Bar place, the Bullpen has lost a step or two to use a sports analogy. The first problem is easily correctable. The Aztecs and Padres are the only local teams of real interest for the local sports fan community. However, there have been a few times where I have gone to the Bullpen for an Aztecs basketball game (most recently on a midday Saturday in January) and the management did not turn on the game audio/play-by-play but instead played music. Even though several tables of customers wearing Aztecs Red & Black gear requested the game audio, they were simply told by staff that that they don't turn on the game sound but only music. This seems totally counter-intuitive that a sport bar that does not cater to the majority of their customers that are at their establishment to watch and support the local teams while buying food and drinks. The second issue for the Bullpen is to update their older TV sets with a newer HD TV set. Several of the TV sets are past their prime and the quality of the picture is sub-par (poor resolution/lack of sharpness) and just one step above the old projection TVs. Bullpen management - Please go down to the nearest Best Buy and get some new HD TVs that are on sale, 2-year interest free payment plan, and free delivery and welcome yourselves to the 2024 world of sports bars. I almost expect to see old-school TV antennas on the roof. The food is still good (Club Sandwich #1 favorite) and the staff specifically waitresses are lovely and friendly plus they provide great customer service (Thank you Ladies). So Bullpen please receive my suggestions as constructive criticism combined with tough love from a long-time customer who doesn't want to go to another sports bar to see (clearly) and hear his favorite local teams along with fellow sport fans instead of our favorite sport bar - The Bullpen. Go Aztecs! Go Padres!

I ended up here at the invite of a friend to enjoy the Wednesday night prime rib special. The prime rib was excellent, especially for the price. This is my first time at the Bullpen and I was amazed at how many customers were there to enjoy the special. The service was a little slow but given the amount of guests on hand the servers did a pretty good job about trying to keep up. The only downside is that this must be the largest sports bar in San Diego and as such he is really noisy. Don't come to the Bullpen if you expect to have a quiet conversation with your friends - at least on a Wednesday night.. Enjoy the prime rib

Great sportsbar. TVs everywhere!Wednesday's Prime Rib deal is incredible, but get there early! They are super busy and sometimes run out of Prime Rib.Sadly, however, they are understaffed. The poor waitresses run like crazy, even with food runners delivering the food to tables. Most of the time, you can't even catch their eye to wave them down. I've actually stood up and ran behind them asking for what I needed.

They must have 40 TV's . The drinks are inexpensive, the food is rock solid. Nice sized portions. Paulina is my favorite server. Really enjoy watching a game here.

Been here twice. Each time for a sporting event. The first time was for a UFC PPV where they charged a 10 dollar entry fee and then the second time was for the NFL Playoffs where they didn't charge thank goodness. It wasn't terribly packed each time. But each time service felt very slow. It's a big spot. Could probably fit 200+ people here between the seating and the bar area. There's a low hum in the place. Definitely not noisy enough where you have to shout. I came when it felt about 80 percent full both times. The food isn't that good. I learned that the first where I had the wings, nachos, and French dip. I had some of my homeboy carne asada fries and his Philly cheese as well and it was underwhelming. So I ate before I came the second time and then munched on some Frings (French fries and crispy beer battered onion rings) just to soak up the beer we were drinking. The waitstaff was running around non stop it seemed like but had a smile on their face. I know it's a hard job. So I appreciate them trying their best and not taking it out on others. Their beers is pretty standard. Your typical modelo, red trolly, Elysian etc. There's a ton of TVs. Each wall has easily 4 or 5 on each one. The seats are generally comfortable. There's a mixture of high tops and low tops and booth seating. It's a 3 star place because the food is mediocre at best. And so that brings it down from what could potentially be a 4 star place. I couldn't imagine coming here if you're not watching sports.

We really like this restaurant. Everything has been good. We especially enjoyed the clam chowder and the chili.

The prime rib was Devine. Every bite was juicy and full of flavor. The Calamari was nice and crispy and a little sprite of lemon juice pumped up the flavor. The prime rib came with a baked potato and broccolini. I'm not a fan of baked potatoes so I can't rate that and the broccolini was basic. The potato skins were surprisingly delicious. Again, I'm not a fan, but those I would have again. The music was great the whole time I was there and the vibe overall was chill. The service was meh, but that doesn't take away from the overall experience. Also, there was a little confusion about the way the prime rib was cooked, but it was rectified.
