Paul such an amazing man. What a great environment I swear to God I haven’t gone to any tequila location but this one is really good here. I live at the Merian which is a lot a couple blocks away and I never been here before but for happy hour coincidentally and I love the location. I have a lot of options of mass and regular tequila. I recommend you guys coming here and order the Pasote!!!

We went here as part of a food tour and while we only got a small plate and couldn't stay long, I knew I'd have to go back. The mole and Mezcal margarita were delicious!Update: We went back two days later just for drinks and they were amazing. The bartender was super fast and friendly!

I really wish I could have great things to say about Casa Octavio. We had a large group of 13, and had made a reservation the day before. It seemed like they were only staffed for a random Tuesday, which is strange when you have a table of 13 coming and it's a Friday. Our waiter truly did the best he could, but it was just him. There was a manager sitting near our table on his laptop for a majority of the time. My perception when I realized it was a manager was that he didn't care. Even then, when it seemed like our waiter asked for help he just walked away. One bartender, one cook and one waiter with a manager that was just there to hangout and not jump in was sad. I was only able to order one drink the entire time I was there, it took so long for everything. To get our drinks, to get chips and salsa, to order our food...and seriously about 45 minutes before our food started to come out!! Again, group of 13 with a reservation made in advanced and just one cook who was also doing the best she could. We could see her from the window next to our table and it was disheartening because she was cooking for the entire place...remember I said it was a Friday?!? The chicken on the Mezcal Chicken Alfredo and Chicken Cesar Salad that was ordered was very dry. I lucked out though, the ribeye on my salad was so so delicious! Cooked perfectly, could cut it with my fork! The steak would be the only thing that would bring me back!

There was a sign for 50% off cocktails and food. We walked in more for the drinks. We were given menus and ordered our cocktails. It took long to get our drinks and we were the only party there. Once we finished our drinks we asked for the check & we looked at the check but it wasn't 50% off anything. We asked the waitress why did we get charged full price. She says because the drinks weren't on happy hour. She never gave us the happy hour menu and the sign outside said ALL cocktails were 50%. We asked for the manager and she said there was no manager on duty & there's nothing they can do. The sign was false advertisement! They shouldn't advertise that cocktails are 50% and charge full price. I would not recommend this place!

Went in for happy hour on a Monday. Several very happy hours later...deliciousness was had. Some nice flavorful tacos, sliders, and really well balanced mixed drinks. Smokey in the best of ways. Paul was a great host and fun to talk with, and he really knew his rums and mezcals, and even showed us something unexpected which was a real highlight for an already enjoyable afternoon. The cochinita pibil is gonna be on my plate again.

The food is incredible and the service is better! This place is a hidden gem! You need to come see it! The mezcal and tequila selection is top notch! Have yall heard of peanut butter tequila! It's like party in your mouth. Ask for maniball!!!

I guess times are hard because it was dark with very little lighting. They cut back on the menu so the tacos were dry and cheap. The owner was very dismissive and absent minded in his service. The food was ran late and he was too busy talking to everyone to proper engage with his customer.

Palomas served with margarita mix not with squirt like the menu says...had to return the drink.Double Grey Goose Vodka tonic was charged $28 dollars PLUS $5 for the tonic. $33 for a double vodka tonic. REALLY?In all fairness, food was good, but we will never be back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.Octavios sucks.....

Service awful, they look miserable to be here. Chicken enchiladas for $22 was bullshit when they're inedible, so dry, no flavor, rice is stale. Asked our server for simple drink orders messed up every time. Took 20 min to even get her attention to put our food in. Nothing good about this place. Maybe if they had a good attitude about being here it wouldn't be as bad but it's legit the worst food and service I've had in years.... Oh and our bill was 100% wrong by over $20.

Really good place, good food and decent prices.Parking: we had to search around like 3 blocks away for parking, which is fine because the weather was nice to walk around on

First time checking this place out to grab some lunch, ended up being seated and literally getting up and leaving before ordering anything. It was 2:45 in the afternoon, place was not busy. Waited at the front for someone to seat us and no one came. After ten minutes, my husband went inside to ask if someone could help us. Another 10 minutes goes by- nothing. Finally someone comes to the hostess area, doesn’t say a word. I ask him - are you seating people? He looks around and casually says “yeah.” They finally seat us and by then I’m seriously pissed. I don’t mind overpaying for a plate of enchiladas and a cocktail but after the way we were treated, I will absolutely not spend my money here. They may have good food but I’m not sticking around long enough to find out.

Really disappointed in this spot. 1st, they mostly post about their brunch which is only available on weekends despite physically putting a moveable brunch menu out front on display by the host stand on a Wednesday. We walked around 10 min waiting for it to open before learning that they don't actually serve the menu on display. Ok so we left bc we wanted brunch. We came BACK to order take out based on the photos of the ceviche and the menu description, only to come home to the most bizarre salt & OJ soaked scallops. I'm confused bc the menu description for the scallop aquachile states cucumber and lime juice and instead it's a bowl of sliced oranges in brown liquid with scallops and a tiny bit of red onion. Steered away from the mango ceviche bc I didn't want fruit and still ended up with an about a full sliced orange in the meal. 2/2 major disappointments and my partner said the carne asada tacos were not even close to being worth $11 a pop, it's $22 for the plate. In San Diego, I can see why this spot is always empty especially with the blind burro right next store. This was one of the worst dishes I've had in my life & I've tasted some fishy/rank shit. It's not even rotten, they just don't follow their recipes I guess. Here's a photo so you can see how it compares to the other photos of the same menu item.
