My favorite bar in San Diego. Great drinks, great music, friendly service.

Super cool speakeasy. Small, intimate, and classy, with a VIP vibe. It’s hard not to feel special the first time you go, and are let in through the nondescript door in the back alley. Made for a fun night!

Normally I like to keep gems like this to myself, but walking through literal back alleys in San Diego to be introduced to this incredible Hi-Fi listening speakeasy was just too awesome and I hope everyone I love gets a chance to get on the reservation list, stat. I'm a speakeasy veteran with a coast to coast cocktail sipping resume that spans from SF to Boston and New Orleans to Chicago, and this spot has definitely landed in my top ten. The atmosphere, the staff, the tunes, and the drinks are all so special and perfectly curated for maximum delight. Every aspect of CMB is comfortable and balanced, and so very easy to enjoy. They found a great groove and kept it going.

A very cool hi-fi speakeasy with a cozy dimly lit atmosphere. They played classics from a vintage looking tube amp that lit up green. We went here on Valentine's Day, would definitely recommend as a romantic date night spot.

For my money one of, if not the best speak easy in San Diego. The decor is super cool, the drinks are fantastic and it's so small and intimate that it makes for a really unique and fun experience. I've been inside at least 10 times now and it never gets old. Don't sleep on it, it's a fun vibe

Great experience at convoy music bar . Made a reservation ahead of time , I’m thankful I was seated although being 10 min late. Entering through the back alley was fun . The service was attentive , the server was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was nice even though it’s a small place . Dimly lit , music at a volume where it’s enjoyable yet you can speak to the rest of your party . The 90 minute time wasn’t an issue at all. Drinks are delicious , but strong . A little pricy but we’ll worth it . Highly recommend.

The place is pretty, but it's extremely loud, feels very cramped, and the drinks are insanely overpriced for the quality/creativity. We only tried two cocktails, but both were sub-par and lacked imagination.

Stopped in for date night this week. Loved bringing my partner down a dark alley. He was very concerned until we saw the velvet ropes. We waited outside to be acknowledged. Shortly the host greeted us and took us to the bar. We got reservations but it doesn't seem that it was necessary for the 6pm on Wednesday timeframe. We didn't actually eat any food here because we ate prior to arriving but they did have some interesting things on the menu including pineapple gummy bears. As far as drinks we got the starter cocktail which is about half the price and half the size so you could have something to drink on while making your selection it was good - I don't remember what it was called. Very perfumey. I had the regatta and it came with a friendship bracelet, which I thought was a really nice touch. My husband got an espresso martini which in my opinion left something to be desired. The espresso didn't taste fresh. I got a banana flip which was good but very very strong and I believe he got another drink that was on the menu called Elysium. All the drinks were good. The atmosphere was fantastic but the bar was unnecessarily crowded with chairs so it was a bit awkward to sit in. We tend to visit speakeasies around the city and this didn't really hit our top five but it was a nice experience. I could see coming back with some friends as it's so close to home, but it wasn't really our scene.

The best place in SD without a doubt! Great atmosphere, excellent service, but above all a great experience from the moment you start getting into this concept!I definitely highly recommend it!

I like this place. You literally go into the back alley behind the shopping center to enter. The only sign that says Convoy Music Bar is spray painted on a trash can. The service is good and so are the cocktails. The cocktails are labeled with the flavor and if they are strong tasting or sweet. The atmosphere is very cool.

This was a cool find. True to the sense of speakeasy. I came on a Friday night down a dark alley where the only signal was a glowing red "on air" which foreshadows what to expect. They make you wait outside because when you first enter it's a small place and can't hold more than 5 people comfortably to check IDs etc. Inside there are a ton of records as the backdrop of the bar. You also have a big speaker there as well with tunes that was the definition of a vibe. It was so good I had to ask the bartender the name of their playlist haha. I was lucky enough to come at a time where there was a group of people leaving and the next group didn't arrive in time and so I got their reservations. Otherwise the next available time for walk ins would have been a 90 minute wait. And at 10pm I wasn't prepared to do that. There's maybe only 20 seats in the place so I'd suggest you make reservations in advance. Despite it being packed, we got our drinks fairly quickly. The bartender asked if we wanted something on the menu or something he created. So it's safe to say that the service was top notch. What really made the experience was the bar manager after his shift, coming to sit down next to us and introducing himself and we struck a convo. He was super chill and had a lot of insight and just overall a welcoming person. I think his name was Dylan. The other staff members genuinely looked like they enjoyed working there. They were cracking jokes with each other. Gave a lot of high fives and hugs. The drinks were stellar. I had a whiskey neat. And then I had a drink with chocolate balsamic which was stellar. The prices were steep tho. And it's hard to justify a drink for 20 bucks. That's the only thing preventing it from being a 5 star.

Good vibes. Good music. Servers were super nice! One server in particular kept a close eye on our table, gave us extra "friendship bracelets" at our request, came by to talk to us and get to know us briefly at our table too! I think the people really make a bar experience and it was nice getting to meet him!Got a plum highball which was super good! Could barely taste the alcohol and that nice sour plum taste that I was looking for.

located in such an unsuspecting alleyway, convoy music bar transports you straight into another world. The drinks are fun and delicious without being completely overwhelming and pairs nicely with the musical selection. The gentlemen that attended us were great as well! Thank you for making our first visit so special. We will definitely be back! parking was plentiful on surrounding streets as well as the shopping center located on the other side of the bar. Area seems safe and there were still people lingering around the restaurants in the area even after 12am.

Had a nice time visiting convoy music bar! Would recommend making a reservation in advance as it definitely gets busy and fills up! The drinks were good and the ambiance was really nice!! It would've been cool to see them playing some of the vinyls that were on display, but it seemed like they were playing a Spotify playlist. Space itself is pretty small and you have to walk behind the restaurants to get to it. We took the long way through the back by accident, but would recommend going to the alley behind the restaurants on the side of the plaza that's closer to opportunity rd. Parking lot was full when we went on a Sunday night so we ended up parking on the street and walking.
