It's not open to the public. ☹️

Buying snacks was probably the only safe option the chef was a little blind and partially deaf not that I’m discriminating towards the disabled. It’s just that it’d be a more reliable, eating establishment with new and fully capable employees.

“It hasn’t been open for years” according to the security guard next door

Cafe food, mmm, super good. Everyone at our table was quite pleased. The service was very helpful and welcoming. The prices are well within reason for the quality.

Do not believe the hype. We did and left highly disappointed!! Burnt tortilla chips and the most bland Mexican food we've ever had. We ordered a Chicken chimichanga and it was literally boiled chicken with ZERO seasoning inside and a dollop of sour cream and guac. This literally tasted like every Mexican food chain you try to avoid. Do NOT waste your money on this crap.

I love this place!!!! I take alll my family when they visit me, my fave is the “El Molcajete” it is the bomb!!!! Saids for two but feeds like three, so good from the atmosphere, mariachi, food & drinks, you won't be disappointed, worth the wait in line then you walk old town to walk off the food

Just the cafeteria for CalTrans. Nothing special. No reason to come here except to kill time before attending a seminar or seeing someone here. There is WIFI but has to be connected through a CA state portal. You need to ask a cashier for the login and password to get on, and once on,it won't allow you to connect to certain sites, particularly social media.

There aren't too many places where you can get a decent meal for $7. Breakfast burritos, carne asada plates, pollo asado, salmon burgers and their french fries are all pretty good. Portion size is more than adequate. The seating area is very clean and still looks new after being open for 11 years. Andrew and Jose are two of the hardest working individuals you will ever find. Next time you are at the Caltrans building in Old town pay them a visit.

Well this is the cafeteria for the SD Caltrans office. As far as cafeterias go I would say it is pretty nice. It is better than the one I visit back home in Sac, but is not as nice as the one at FTB. Usual cafeteria stuff, burgers, fries, special always seems to be Mexican food. Breakfast burritos are nice, the one this morning was really good as they use fresh cooked potatoes, not some frozen hash browns. The last time I was here, I went to get a fountain soda as diet pepsi always tastes better over ice. I walk up to the register, set my soda down and tell the cashier, "just the soda please" He looks at the soda, and then back at me and says' 'what size" I say, " That size, you tell me" he proceeds to ring me up, I hand him my 2 dollars and he still looks confused as the cash register tells him to give me 47 cents back. It put a smile on my face as I walked back to my desk.
