Great service and amazing beer! We got a chance to taste their traditional beers as well as some of their experimental beers. The staff gave us an in depth description of the ideas behind their experimental beers and made for a great night out! Will come again and I highly recommend this spot. An up and coming gem in SD.

Amazing experience at this brewery! They helped me celebrate my birthday and were so great! I love that this is a Navy bar and the perfect location to watch football. The best part is the table speakers they give you to match the game you’re watching. Excellent service; highly recommend.

This is a great brewery owned by two people who love what they do. The brews are great with good clever names that all sailors will recognize and they constantly reach out and support their community whenever possible. They always have great food options outside, host all fights and football games, and have a pretty good trivia night that's brings fun to everyone. If you're local and enjoy a good brew and great atmosphere, so buy, you won't be disappointed! P.s. might want to roll with a coin

El Cid is a hidden gem with so much character. The laid-back atmosphere and unique presentation of the bar really give it an authentic feel. While the service may have a salty old CPO charm, it only adds to the genuine experience. The board games are a nice touch, providing a fun and nostalgic vibe. Additionally, the personalized restroom area, though tucked away, adds to the overall charm of the place. The beer selection, while "not mind-blowing" for an Elite yelper with a suspect palate.... Offers a good variety and is enjoyable. Overall, El Cid is a quaint and distinctive spot in San Diego that's definitely worth checking out!

Great selection of beer, not too packed, street parking, best bartender, no a/c today just fans, all tall stools. Red Chevrons Irish red Ale is delicious, Crest of a Wave (Horchata) Ale is unexpectedly great! Awesome place to watch our Midshipmen play, Taco truck will be here for some games, can’t wait.

This place is owned by a Navy Veteran so of course we old salts (Dear Husband and I) had to check it out. It's about 3 miles from where we live so we decided to walk, don't drink and drive folks. We went there to watch my husband's alma mater get destroyed by ND in the first College Football game of the season. It was really nice of Eric the owner to put the game on for those of us who came to watch. Now on to THE most important part, the beer. I used to come here when it was home brewing place with a tasting room, they always had good beers on tap. I was pretty delighted with the Pale Ale and the Red Ale, those two ended up being my favorites. My husband tried the Breakfast Stout and it was really, really good. There was a lighter lager but I didn't like it very much, it had a metallic after taste but it could be due to the soy sauce I had on my poke' bowl that was messing with the flavor. Nice atmosphere here, friendly patrons and lot's of TV's. We want to swing by for Sunset Trivia very soon. We will definitely be back. By the way, my husband was delighted to see the tag painted in the bathroom on the "bulk head" - brought back moderately pleasant memories of his days at sea. I loved the wall treatments, the murals of Navy Chiefs. Very very cool. Note: there are some excellent food places close by too - poke bowl place and a Chinese place that has vegan food. Across the street is a very good Ethiopian eatery.

El Cid Brewery is a solid choice. The owners are friendly and make non-alcoholic drinkers like me feel comfortable. The trivia nights on Tuesdays are a nice touch, adding some entertainment to the laid-back atmosphere. They've got a few board games like Connect 4, which is a cool addition. My husband joined their mug club, and the prices seem fair for what you get. He's a fan of their Horchata Ale. Overall, El Cid Brewery is a decent hangout spot with a good range of options for different tastes.
