I gave this rating a 3. I bought a breakfast entree just to try and some chicken porridge. it was a bit underwhelming. Went there a 2nd and 3rd time for other entrees. Nothing spectacular. The porridge, was ok, but lacking in chicken. For 8 dollars I didn't think it was worth it. Small eatery, clean with friendly staff.

Training’s is a hole in the wall Mira Mesa Filipino family favorite. Today was my first time here. I ordered the Chicken Adobo plate. Love that soy sauce and vinegar aroma and taste!

This is my favorite place to go when I miss my childhood. The food is yummy. Tastes just like home.My favorite thing to order is the karekare with rice. The portion is large, this can easily be shared or split into two meals. The silog is also good. I always get longsilog, because it reminds me of childhood.Every time I go I also get cantaloupe juice!I've had their pan de sal and desserts as well. Best pan de sal in the area in my opinion. The flan is also very good and flavorful!

Make sure you speak tagalog or bisaya because they look and treat you funny if you are filipino and you don't. Smh. Go to Valerios on black mountain road. They even have haba haba.

The corned beef tastes like they opened a can of Libby's Corned Beef Hash and microwaved it. Very mushy, very basic. Definitely not worth the $14 (yes it's $14 for this Filipino breakfast, ridiculous), my 8 year old nephew can cook better corned beef than this.

Love it here! Baked goods are delish, food is just like home, and staff are great. One of our fave Filipino local spots

We have been here quite a few times to pickup warm and fresh pandesal as well as a few other times for lunch. Service is consistent, energetic, welcoming and always smiling faces to take your order. Depending on the time of day you visit, there could be a short line or none at all.As for the pandesal, it is good! They’re not the traditional smaller sizes that you would find back home but almost tastes the same and is also packed in brown paper bags. The dough is somewhat airy and not too thick like another local place. As for the dishes, we have tried a few off the regular menu and they’re ok, nothing too fancy, more on the mediocre home cooking side. What prompted me to give a review today was this was the first time we tried their “silogs”. I’m a big breakfast person and always give credit where credit (and props) are due, so my small amount of criticism is not an attack on any establishment or the cook for that matter. Maybe it was not the regular cook today but breakfast was not enjoyable at all.You are asked “how do you like your eggs” when placing an order for any silog platter. To my surprise, all of the eggs in our orders were cooked the same, over hard; a far cry from sunny side up or over easy. The tosilog, tapsilog and longanisa were dry and hard with little to no fats (taba). Not sure if it was old meat, leftovers from the previous day, I don’t know, just speculating. Now one can argue that they were in to go packaging so the steam overcooked everything. But the food was opened and consumed within 5 minutes of leaving Trining’s.Some in our culture might say that I’m being “maarte” and to be thankful and just eat. But there is a certain expectation that when we eat out, the food will be somewhat better than your own home cooking especially when the prices for eating out have gone up. The sinangag ( garlic fried rice was bland), I did not taste or see any garlic and felt like it was fried in old oil. Although the portions were large but unfortunately, the meats or “ulam” and eggs were too dry and overcooked which made for a disappointing breakfast.Generous with the 5 Stars for service with a smile and warm greeting and also for the pandesal always being consistent. But it’s 3 stars for the silogs since it could be better, a lot better.

My dad and I tried this place. Great customer service! We told them that it was our first time as they have a lot of choices on their menu. My dad and I shared the dinuguan and fried crispy salmon. The taste of the food was great. We bought other items too like kutsinta, polvoron, chicharon, turons, and taho. All of them were good as well. Will have to come back and taste their other food! FYI...the place is small so they might run out of tables and chairs if you were planning to eat there during their busy times.

Food 2 of 5 - its ok, not the best filipino food out there. Some items are way too greasy and pricey. Service 0 of 5 - don't expect your typical welcoming filipinos. Servers here are rude specially the short haired lady. Will only come back for the fresh pandesal.

We were at Hobby Lobby and grabbed lunch on the way home! Sriracha Wings were the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and the lumpia was firm, flaky and delicious. The star of the show was the Garlic Rice, so good and the spam and egg were a great addition. We plan to be back soon for a tray of lumpia and to try the adobo! Service was great, too!

I'm a s***** for Filipino comfort food. What I appreciate the most about this spot isn't actually their entrees, but their wide array of Filipino baked goods. If you're looking to pick up some home baked hopia, bao, or turon, look no further! Their Filipino food is good as well, but I'm used to my regional cuisine so the longganisa had a taste I wasn't used to. Portions felt kind of small, but I would definitely be back!

Their food is not bad but they need to improve their customer service.I called in an order for pick up so as to minimize wait time at the store because as an adult I have other obligations to take care of. They took my order asked for my name then hung up. I called back right away just to ask how long it was going to take and the lady on the phone said to "just come here to the store and wait for it" in a rather rude and impatient tone then hung up again. I called back to cancel my order.I don't understand how such a simple question from a paying customer about a transaction could be met with such hostility. I'm never coming back to this place.

Pretty good breakfast. Got tocino and the longanisa which were both good and the rice was very flavorful, had a nice garlic taste. Lots of depth to the flavor in both dishes. Also got the Ube cheese rolls which were very good.
