There is this story of Leonardo da Vinci where he drew a perfect circle freehand to demonstrate his mastery. That's how I feel about this spot. The sandwiches don't try to distract you with gimmickry. They are timeless perfection. A harmonious blend of flavors; just pure excellence. I never get tired of turning people on to one of my favorite hidden gems in San Diego. The owners are lovely, service is great and the patio is the perfect spot to take a break on a perfect San Diego day.

I snagged a sandwich here and it was wonderful. The staff was so friendly and my food was so good. The sandwich was fantastic and i had a side of the fruit which was so fresh and overall great. Definitely would come back here!

Absolutely wonderful, delicious sandwiches and soup . Great service . Sandwiches had plenty of meat and condiments soup tasted perfect. Portions were great ,left in a food coma didn't think that could happen with a sandwich. Plenty outdoor seating great weather. Adorable small business located in a Hillcrest. Service was fast and very kind! I order the chicken salad sandwich and the Neptune sandwich and both were incredible. The bread was to die for!!! Perfect for a quick lunch or a good snack!

The place doesn't look like much but don't let that fool you. The sandwiches are amazing. Fresh ingredients and they don't skimp on things that you would expect to get skimped on (ie. bacon, avocado.) the lady working was very nice and we had great service. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in Hillcrest!

The Cabrillo sandwich was super delicious! They even add 2 pickle spears to go with it. I will definitely be coming back here again due to their amazing and friendly service :) The lady who helped me was so welcoming and definitely helped put a smile on my face. I know the sign outside says to walk up to the driveway to order, but don't make the same mistake I did lol, you can just walk in the store via the stairs on the side. The inside is small with only a couple small tables - I would prefer ordering to-go here.

Decent sandwiches, I love the curry cashew sandwich on squaw bread. They used to deliver just one sandwich!! Unsure whether they still do. But that is rare. Owners are super nice.

Hillcrest Sandwich Co. offers delicious and tasty sandwiches. The service is friendly, quick, and efficient. I've tried several sandwiches and they've all have been good. The ingredients are fresh and they pack the sandwiches with meat and vegetables. My go to order: The Brown Derby Sandwich: Chicken salad, crisp bacon and bleu cheese crumbles on hawaiian sweet egg bread. Angels Gate Sandwich: Roast beef, swiss cheese, sprouts, red onions and avocado on an onion roll. They offer a variety of options (a vegetarian menu, too).
