We love ordering from the Kearny mesa branch. We recommend their pancit, Kalbi ribs, poke, and upside down pineapple cake.

Order before you come!!! My one person/plate order took 30min. (Did come at 6pm on a Sunday) Tons of Uber eats/door dash and people picking up takeout. I almost drove away because it looked busy but I was starving and craving Hawaiian. Door dash guy at the front waiting said 10min wait... I ordered a 2 item combo Korean Chicken and Teri beef. Delicious. Food was bomb, flavor was abundant. The chicken was fresh and hot, the beef was lukewarm. But taste was great! There's 5 tables in here, not much and it's not the cleanest but they were so busy what could u expect... feels like a mom and pop owned franchise.

Chicken Katsu and kalbi combo plate was soooo yummy! Very flavorful anSmall restaurant and seemed like it was mostly to go orders which I did myself and didn't disappoint. Totally recommend!

Super bomb! Chicken was super crispy saucy was a little too oily for my tasting maybe a bit of a thicker sweet and sour sauce and perfect otherwise definitely recommend! Also macaroni salad was good too!

Unfortunately, my first one star review and it was deleted the day I wrote it. Decided to stop in because of the solid reviews. Menu was simple and casual atmosphere. I was craving plate lunch and this looked like it fit the bill. Unfortunately, the reviews didn't match my experience. Rice in our two plate lunch dishes was under cooked. Kahlua pork was oily and undercooked. Lumpia was undercooked soggy and cool to the touch on the inside. Musubi was average. In their defense it looks like they are training new cooks and staff. Expressed the situation to the chef/manager. They indicated they were cooking more rice, but no offer to redo the dishes or offer a refund. Staff seemed indifferent. We wanted to enjoy our food and experience but we were let down. Would not recommend at this time as the food, value and experience were just not there.

Food wasn't bad, and portions are big. This restaurant seems to be a place that accommodates go orders more than dine-in. They do have a small dining area. However, they do not offer water cups, and trash is even located outside -- so it's not very dine in friendly. The teriyaki beef was flavored well but was overcooked and touch to chew. I liked their spicy poke bowl, but it doesn't come with rice, so you'll need to add it on the side for $1.50 That said, food is pretty good and at a good price, so I'll continue coming here to go. I would not recommend dining in, though.

One of my go-to Hawaiian spots in SD. My favorite dish is their Korean chicken 5/5. Other dishes are 3/5 to 4/5. Loco moco brown gravy is good but the beef patty is too dense. Regular Hawaiian dishes such as teri chicken, teri beef, kalua pork, short ribs, spam musubi, etc are all tasty. Lava chicken is really good - chicken katsu with spicy "lava" sauce. Mac salad is solid. Green salad is actually really good. You order at the counter and they pack everything to go. Not the fastest place, but everything is cooked to order so you know it's fresh.

Need more chairs for the amount of tables in the seating area. Staff needs to keep better track of orders when busy afternoon comes. The food was great otherwise.

It was good but not fantastic. The macaroni had too much mayo. The meat didn’t come with salt.

Shockingly bad food compared to the reviews! Katsu was both undercooked and contained dark meat while the rice had the consistency of thick oatmeal.

This used to be a total staple restaurant for me, but goodness the food quality has suffered. All the stuff I've ordered from Kalbi, Kahlua Pig, musubi, have just not been hitting right in the flavor and texture department. And for prices like they charge, this just ain't it. It's 24 bucks total for a lackluster, bad tasting meal. Eh. Sad to see it.
