This used to be the best Mexican spot in the neighborhood. Sadly, it has gone so down hill that I don't know if it can be saved. Overpriced as all hell while their portion sizes have shrunken significantly. And the Al Pastor meat, which used to be fresh and to die for, has become bland and dry. It's really sad to see this place go. It still has my favorite salsa of all, the habanero salsa. But there needs to be some big changes to this place to get me to come back.

If you want $3 reward off ordering from toast it’s 1 point every $10 spent and you need 30 points this place wants you to pay $300 to earn a $3 reward in all my life I’ve never seen something so pathetic after being a loyal customer for years this place has gone done hill and this truly shows how greedy the owners are and that they’re taking advantage of everyone for there money because of the general area.

California burrito and carne asada fries. The fries were good portions were small, container wasn't filled side to side. Not looking for a filled to the brim but a what you pay for filled container and it was not that. My California burrito would have been good if the hot Cheetos weren't stale causing lack of flavor and crunch. Service was good no complaints. If i can taste stale chips through sauce it must be very very stale kind of nasty.
I’ve only been one time, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was absolutely delicious, the servers catered to you without fail at all, especially if you wanted to add or remove certain things from your food. They are kind and helpful. I personally didn’t enjoy the atmosphere that much, it felt tight, bit claustrophobic for my taste, but it wouldn’t deter me from coming back! Wish I would have taken pics of my food, but I ate it too fast to remember to ? T-Gunz burrito, make it wet… ? amazing!

I walk in and placed an order to go however, I had to wait until all orders for dine-in got served. Too bad, this is my first and last time here. That treatment is not fear.

I've had California burritos almost everywhere in San Diego - this place has one of the best
I first experienced Lupe’s in Irivine and had to visit the one out here in SD. The food was great, but I do agree with some of the other reviews that the burrito was a bit smaller (especially in comparison to my other Lupe’s experience). I was still overly full though lol so it’s actually more of an adequate serving size. Food came out fast and staff was nice.

Lupe's is a neighborhood staple. Me and my partner usually end up here a least 1-2 per month. We almost exclusively eat their tacos because they have a number of great taco options that are all good, and they're all a decent size. The Surf n Turf taco is a household favorite because of the value, quality of the protein, and the salsa. The Al pastor taco is very flavorful with great salsas on top. The Beer battered fish taco always has a a large chunk of fish, and there's never too much breading.
