Updated reviewCame here again a year later and I have to say the food is very good. Had the ox tail soup, curried fried rice, fried dumplings, sweet and sound shrimp, and king Lao chicken. Everything was very good, fresh, and came out quickly. Service is still hectic though.———-I really wanted to give this place a better rating because it is really the only halal Chinese spot in San Diego. The food was ok and the service was ok. But I probably would not come here again. We ordered a few different dishes but many of them tasted the same. The lamb cumin was very different than other lamb cumin I have tried. This one was like doused in cumin powder and didn’t have any red peppers which at other Chinese restaurants always do. The beef soup tasted like pure soy sauce, just full of sodium. The curry fried rice we ordered is not what we got. My friend said last time he came it had a yellow sauce on top, this time was just a normal fried rice dish. Not sure what’s going on there. The place was very busy but the service was fast and felt hectic. The owners really should hire at least one server and not try to do everything on their own. I really hope they can get better because it is a nice spot.

Excellent! Now one of my top 3 Chinese Food restaurants. Menu had alot of selections. First time visiting. Egg Flower Drop soup delicious! And the Kung Pao beef was perfect because it didnt have any green peppers that other places try to override with. Cream cheese wontons good! Price is reasonable for the amount you get. Staff friendly and venue is modern decor. A+

This is a super late review since I visited back in September last year. I've been to Ma's in Fullerton so I was excited there was a location here in San Diego also. It was super quiet the night I came and was pretty empty for a Friday evening. The waitress was nice but short, not frou frou or super friendly but she meant business. I ordered the scallion pancake, which was thin and savory, perfect for sauces. I also ordered the orange chicken because it's a staple and I was so excited to try it halal. It was delicious and cripsy with a good amount of sauce without being overly saucy. The tofu with vegetables was good and the vegetables were still a bit crunchy and not soggy. The star was the chili sauce which the waitress advised me was made in-house. She graciously packed plenty for me as I needed to take a lot of this home as these are definitely family-style servings. I need to go back soon to try more of their dishes and also hope to support their business here. There was plenty of parking outside and inside is modern, spacious, well-lit, and very clean.

Loved it here. Had a multitude of dishes here, and all were exceptionally good. If you are in the SD area you have to try. Portions are also a great size, and we (13 people) left completely full with leftovers no spending just north of $300. Food is all halal, and even has a prayer room.Dishes I had:Spicy & Sour Soup, great soup, by the book, could do more on the spice though.Chicken & Corn Cream Soup, also great, less flavorful, have with soy sauce/vinegar and the chili oil that is given for extra flavor.Kung Pao Chicken, very tender chicken with crunchy onions and peanuts, had a hair in it when we bought, but they quickly brought out a replacement.Ma's Short Ribs, nice and tender with a not overpowering sweet flavor.3 flavor Spicy Curry Fried Rice, not my favorite, but not a bad dish either, isn't that spicy in my opinion, but has good flavors and meat is done well.3 flavor chow mein, noodles were great, and meat was flavorful.

Get there early before the crowds coming for dinner. Otherwise, it will be long before you get your food due to limited staff compared to the customers. The food is extremely good. It has Mala spice in it. The best Halal Chinese restaurant I have found in the USA so far.Dietary restrictions: The best halal restaurant in USA I have found so far.Parking: In front of the restaurant
