Great spot with fun unique theme and all vegan. Would not go for dinner, just drinks and late night snacks.

atmosphere needs a 10 star option because this is truly one of the best spots in SD for a great theme.the drinks are a bit pricey $15-19 but worth the ambiance of the bar. The food is also high quality. mostly appetizers and finger food but presented and taste amazing. Great date night spot.

This place was super unique ?Our waitress had the best vibe! The drinks are amazing and strong. We just had icecream and that was delicious! So I can bet the food is yummy. Definitely will go back to try some of the dishes.

Just okay. Cool atmosphere and fun specialty cocktails (mostly rum). Menu was small and limited/gives off more of a small bites vibe but presents as warm and involved entrees. Service felt transactional. Tbh kinda like a less satisfying rainforest cafe

Drinks were good, the atmosphere and the menus plus the washroom all built into the immersive experience of being in outer space along with the ceiling with shooting stars. Would recommend a visit at least once.

I've only had drinks here but they are creative and delicious. The theming is fantastic and the staff is great. It's tiny so plan on standing at the bar (there may likely be a wait) and grab some seats as others leave .Update 3/27/24: There must have been a staff shortage behind the bar last night as the service was horrible. It was 45 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our drinks. The drinks were delicious, but the wait was not.

I went here with a group of friends. The atmosphere was amazing. The drinks are really good . I recommend the mindkiller. The food dose come in small portions but could be a little better. The pancake taste like straight dough (no taste), there seasonal bread was decent. I had the noodles which was very spicy but good. The potatoes was cooked well but the sauce they had on the bottom could be a little better.

It’s a very small place - so noise level is very high. Hard to talk with friends without yelling. Some food was very good (potatoes) some food not so good (pancake). Drinks were excellent. Service was good - though being told you have 10 mins when they brought the bill was a bit aggressive. Overall it was a unique experience, but not a place that we’d return to given the expense, lack in ability to have a decent conversation with friends and there was really only the one food item we all agreed was really yummy - the rest was “meh” for us. Fun Insta moment for sure - which is the hype I guess. Fun concept. Great branding work with the menus, descriptions, etc.Dietary restrictions: There are not many food items - so look at the menu to prepare if you plan to eat. There are some GF, but again, selection is limited. Not a place for a “meal”. Just some apps with your drinks.

Mothership has easily become one of my favorite bars. As soon as we walked in, it was like stepping onto a spaceship-themed speakeasy, but in a galaxy not so far away. I'm a big fan of anything sci-fi, so the whole experience was a blast. Every corner of the place, from the starlit ceilings to the futuristic seats, and yes, even the space-themed restrooms, added to the illusion of being aboard a starship.Date night with my partner and our friends was a hit here, offering the perfect mix of quirky drinks and tasty bites. The potato pancakes and rice were standout dishes, and I was pleasantly surprised by their impressive selection of non-alcoholic options too.For anyone in search of a dinner and drinks outing with a sci-fi twist, Mothership is a fantastic choice. The service was excellent as well; we got seated before our booking time since there was an available table, and they let us linger past the usual 90-minute slot because of a last-minute cancellation. Definitely a memorable experience, just a little less over-the-top.

By far my favorite San Diego bar…all the atmosphere of the Disneyland Cantina with a dystopian Gary Paulson Transall Saga twist. I always want to come here when I’m in town.
