One of our favorite cafe in our neighborhood. They extended three months ago. No more Nick Rail music store. I had Nutmeg Scramble and Coconut Rum Cake. Yum.

It’s refreshing you order at the counter, sit down, and they bring your stuff to do (no extra lines waiting at a pick up area). Lots of seating options. No vegan pastries - would like to see those added to the menu. There is one vegan item on the menu that looks good but I didn’t try it. Got the americano - it was ok (not the best not the worst). Staff is friendly. Good environment. Would definitely come back!

Quaint little Cafe that's not a brand name restaurant. Food was pretty good and just right servings. The menu offers some healthy options and traditional egg breakfast plates, sandwiches, panini's, wraps and fancy avocado toast! Employees are very friendly. Love the bakery items offered like fresh, large, tall cinnamon rolls, scones, croissants, brownies and more.

Holy moly, the perfect amount of food. In San Diego you often get so much food it feels wasteful... this is a perfect breakfast amount. The lavender chai is awesome as well.

Overall great experience. The food was really good and I had the pleasure of consuming the shakshuka. Decor was nice and modern. Service was okay, small issue where we asked for a menu and instead of handing us one, the blonde gentlemen walked by us and placed it on the table. Rude? I'm not sure, but it definitely left an impression.

I mainly came here to try their peanut butter mocha. I ended up ordering a "fancy avocado toast" (no, really, that's what it is called). It was delicious! I forgot to ask for a milk alternative for my mocha so it tasted weird, but that's probably because I don't drink too much dairy. I would come back and try the peanut butter mocha with a milk alternative.

Love this bakery/cafe! One of my favorites. Delicious- and healthy- food, great menu, friendly people, tasty coffee and sweet treats (including gluten free- I've heard the GF selection is delicious.) My faves: All Kale Caesar (it's really good- do not be thrown off by all that kale ;) the Capri panini, the Avocado toast (so good!) the lattes, and their cinnamon rolls (outrageously tasty)... but everyone who I've eaten there with raves about the whole menu. Highly recommend!

This breakfast was one of the best I have had. It was so delcious!! I had the ganache pancakes which were the perfect balance of sweetness. It was not to sweet at all! I also had the white coconut tea which was so fresh and relaxing it went perfectly with my meal. I hope that I can come back again, I deffinitely recommend coming.

Nutmeg was a decent place to go for coffee and studying. There are outlets at most of the tables on the walls, so it’s good if you need power. The place definitely gets busy on Saturday mornings, so go early if you want to get a table.

I was impressed by the warm welcome the moment we walked in the door.Every staff member displayed the same genuineness. It was super clean, and cleanliness is definitely a plus. The food was fresh from the eggs to the fruit. I had the eggs, home fries, toast, sausage, bacon with slices of cantaloupe and pineapple.Bravo to this place. The service was great. Our new spot for sure.

Was excited to come here for brunch but customer service changed that feeling. Showed up for the first time with 3 other people and was told we can look at the restaurant style menus to see what we wanted. We walked over to an empty table since you have to order at the counter and wanted to see what to get. With many options on the menu it would have been great to take some time to see what would be best to get. Immediately after we sat down though we were promptly told by a male employee that we can’t reserve tables, that it’s a house rule and we need to order first. We walked to the counter, waited behind one person, placed our order and then walked back the same spot we were at before. I’m confused on what this place wants to be…. Do they want to be a quick place to eat or a sit down location. I could see if it’s very busy but there were a bit of seats available inside as well as outside. It just seems that common sense was not used in this interaction.Regarding the food, I decided to get the Avocado toast and it was fine. Was a little pricy for one slice(decent size) toast with tomatoes on top of the avocado.Overall I don’t plan on coming back because I’m not sure what this place is trying to be and there are other breakfast/brunch options that are either cheaper, or similar price with a more streamlined experience.
