2nd time here to take advantage of happy hour $1.99 fish tacos. Ordered 2 + rice and beans side. The first time I came a few months ago, I thought the fish tacos were ok, but maybe worth the $1.99 price, but, unfortunately, just not doing it for me. Fish portion is so small, you can’t even see it under all the toppings. There’s a spot in Del Mar that has daily happy hour with better flavored fish tacos and they have a great chicken tinga taco. Oscars is fine if you want a quick cheap bite for happy hour, but not my go to spot. Service is friendly and atmosphere as expected for that area of La Jolla.

We were looking for a local place, a hole-in-the-wall, to try some fresh and good tacos…and Oscar’s did not disappoint! It’s a small no-frills joint with flavorful tacos. We ordered the fish, shrimp, and smoked fish tacos. The smoked fish tacos is a MUST! The mixed ceviche was fresh and delicious. They offered a free sample of their fish soup when we were there - I would’ve ordered a bowl. It was so good! and oh so good ?

Good tacos, great sauce (try the white one). They missed 2 tacos from our order, but since they are big, it was enough for all of us.

Wow, I loved it. Delicious seafood tacos, my favorite was the specialty, atun adobado al pastor. Battered fish and shrimp tacos were also excellent.

Our first stop in San Diego, Where to go to a local put us at Oscar's doorstep & it did not disappoint. Fresh Food, Smoked fish tacos, Surf & Turf Tacos, Steak Burrito, chips & salsa 3 different squeeze sauces. A must go to while visiting San Diego! Great stop for lunch or dinner. Located a half block from the beach. They do not serve alcohol.

My husband wanted to have Mexican food and I wanted seafood. I searched for a place with both and found this one. There was a line outside but it moved fast. We had torta de Oscar and fish & shrimp ceviche. Loved it. The torta bread made it seem more like a sandwich but it was delicious nonetheless. Great value and I highly recommend this one if you are in the area.

Locals only. Where is the sign? Why is there a line out the door? Oscars doesn't advertise and there is hardly a visible sign. Look for thre Smoke Shop sign and just follow the folks in and get ready for an amazing authentic San Diego taco. As a So Cal native, LA and OC have amazing Mexican food, but everyone knows SD is best. I don't know why, but San Diego it just is. Lots of amazing places, but for locals who want authentic, amazing, affordable tacos, locals know that Oscars in a great spot

Amazing small place to get some serious seafood/tacos. If your in the area and love tacos and sea food I promise you won't get let down..not cheap but not crazy expensive. As I've been eating here outside they have a steady flow of traffic buying on a wensday evening..it's like one of those small hole in the walls that after eating there you are so happy you found the place.
