I have been a loyal customer for years since it opened. Since the end of 2021 and start of 2022 something changed... this is our 3rd awful dinner this year...We used to come every week, lately every other week and now no more... Tonight, the Udon soup so salty i could not have the broth. The ototo sushi from being like 70% fish now has become 10% fish (look pictures). It never had the edible yellow paper or whatever is called. Imagine this is the new technique to be able to hold more crab in it rather than fish. But still charging same or more due to inflation but with less fish... Even for deliveries mistakes have been made..i used uber eats and one roll was missing.. next i ordered online and picked it up myself.. to find a missing roll once i checked inside my car.... One thing has not changed... the friendly waiters and waitresses who are always friendly young kids.. they are super nice... i miss the old days pre covid..

I love this place!! The staff is always very friendly and makes sure you've got everything you need. The sushi never fails to disappoint. My favorites being the scallop dynamite and the Oberon. The atmosphere inside is also very welcoming with a nice patio if you prefer to be outdoors.

Love Ototo! If you live in the area you know that there aren't too many sushi options in 4S Ranch, luckily we have this gem. My family and I are frequent customers and have always had great experiences with the staff. My personal favorite is the spicy ramen while my son is hooked on the karaage!

My husband and I ordered to go ramen. Which we've done at other places. We know its not the same but this is the absolute worse. I'm so sad because $30 later I'm hungry having to make food at home and literally throwing the food away. It doesn't look bad but when we go to try it the noodles are undercooked. They look and taste like noodles from the ramen packets at the store. Not even the cup ones. The broth wasn't too bad. The spicy broth was kind of sweet. The egg was over cooked and the pork was too hard to chew.

Late afternoon and extremely hungry. Ramen sounded just right for a late lunch. Bad choice... Ordered their version of "Chicken Ramen" and words fail me on trying to describe what was served. Felt like I was served heated chicken stock with unchewable chicken cuts. The noodles were undercooked. Only the corn that was served with the Ramen tasted fresh so 1-star for that. The people were quick to provide service so kudos for them. Won't be stopping by again.

Just awful. Went here on Valentine's Day and we sat down with the wife and kids and no one approached us for 10 minutes. I went to the table And asked to put my order in. I ordered a couple of miso soups and the guy dropped them off and walked off and we still had more to order. They were a quarter full and once I saw that I walked out and went to Boto sushi. I've never seen anything like this.. Their balboa location is so much better. The attitude was horrible and it would of been a different situation if I didn't have my wife and daughters with me. I HATE this place.

Our favorite restaurant for 28 years just priced us out: $24/roll. So sad.Because if that, today we tried Ototo. We arrived 10 minutes before 2:00 closing time. There were five tables of customers, and the server was beyond pleasant. I Asked him which he preferred between three rolls I couldn’t decide on. I went with his opinion, Picasso, and it was delicious. Will definitely return.

Ordered Sushi online (pick up order) only to find out that they changed their rolls and the online menu is outdated. Sushi was super plain and I won’t be coming back. Called the restaurant to say that my sushi was missing cucumbers and avocado and I was really disappointed with the answer I received over the phone: “Sorry the menu has changed and we haven’t had a chance to update it online.” Staff did not offer to Re-make it and that was just a bummer.
Just ordered Lunch here and the taste was not fresh. Below average texture, flavor and presentation.

Easily one of my favorite places! The ramen and gyoza are CRAZY GOOD! I have a serious nut allergy and I really appreciate the fact that this restaurant does not use any nuts! The sushi is good too and they have a nice selection of drinks! Their happy hour is absolutely awesome too. Every time I've taken a friend here we've had a good time and great food. I HIGHLY recommend this place and love coming here :).

Delicious! Nice little place we came across after craving sushi. Nice selection of specialty rolls and all very delicious. I would say go here if you cant think of anywhere else to go for dinner because its pretty simple and you are guaranteed to like at least one roll here. We tried the fried tempura ice cream on a whim and it wasnt too bad, but ice cream was obviously sitting in the freezer for too long so it was pretty hard and icy. Other than that great!
