Always a good time at Puesto. Food is overpriced but it’s creative. Like their tamarind shrimp tacos- and soo good. The drinks here are genuinely soo good. Our server was so friendly and food came out in a timely manner despite the fact they were very busy. I come here mainly when I want a really good drink. The coconut margarita is my favorite. It’s inside the shopping center where Trader Joe’s is at and I never have trouble finding parking.

I’m dining in while writing this review. The staff is more worried about their peers and what they are up to than attending guests. I’ve ordered my food and it’s been 40 minutes. There’s only 10 guests in the restaurant. This is unreasonable. For the price and experience just go to Javier’s in La Jolla, where you will be treated by someone as you walk through the door and always have someone checking on you. I had to seat myself when I came in because there was no hostess. I was hoping this would be my new spot since they have an astonishing selection of tequila. Beware the bartenders carry a FAT attitude.

Food is just okay. Definitely caters to a white clientele, not actual Mexican food. Tried a variety of tacos and margaritas, nothing was particularly good. Food lacks seasoning and spice. It looks pretty though.I heard they also do surge pricing now. Place is already pretty pricey for sub par food as it is.Go elsewhere if you want Mexican food.

Service from Dimitar was absolutely incredible! We were seated in the outdoor seating when it began to rain harder and offered to move us to a corner booth after he had already turned on the patio heaters and served us water. He was very patient, and as we placed our order, he gave us great recommendations that proved to be delicious in the end. The food arrived hot, and everyone was happy with their choices as the plates had hardly a crumb left. We had come out to celebrate #3s Bday, and she was able to enjoy a very flavorful mango cake.Just FYI, but apparently, there's a "healthcare surcharge (4.00%)" automatically added to the bill.Overall, the pace was clean, had some great ambiance, and allowed the bday girl to bring her dog in (outdoor seating). We ordered shredded chicken for the dog ($6.00) and were surprised with the serving. Dimitar was very attentive and accommodating. No one left hungry. Highly recommended and will be back.Parking: We came for lunch on an overcast Saturday that turned to rain. There were several open parking spots in front of the restaurant

I had been to Puesto a few times before and really enjoyed the food even if they are “bougie” tacos. This time was a miss unfortunately. We ordered guacamole and not only was there avocado skin/peel in the guacamole but the produce sticker was on that skin/peel! All of the tortillas on the tacos were cold and we were left still feeling hungry despite spending $20+ for two tacos each. I loved the idea of the tacos before and felt like they previously delivered with great ingredients and presentation but this experience was a sharp detour.

Restaurant week portions aren't impressive, don't go in with high expectations. Food is good , i would've just paid the extra bucks and ordered food from regular menu.

Dinner at Puesto was great. The food was very good and the portions were just right. It took a little time to get our drinks, but after that service was quick and efficient. The only issue we had was finding parking.

I've been coming to Puesto for years now and always enjoyed my experience. I came here with my mom and my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday after a long day at work. Every staff member that we interacted with was so friendly and helpful, and our food was amazing as always. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Shared they could accommodate celiac and then could not safely accommodate once me and my guest arrived. Very disappointing and unprofessional interactions with the waiter who would not connect us to a manager.

Everything was nice except the food. I ordered a few tacos. The corn tortillas seemed chewy and hard to eat. Maybe they were old or just prepared incorrectly. What was worse was the filling for the mole vegetable taco. It was so sour it was inedible. I think maybe they soaked the vegetables in lime juice or vinegar. Also not sure why they were “mole” since there was no mole sauce. With so much good Mexican food in San Diego I'm not sure why this place is still open.

Very accommodating. Our server was great—attentive, personable and efficient. The food and beverages were very good. Just think averaging $11 per taco is high. The quality is exceptional as you would expect, but $33 for three tacos and no rice or beans or chips and salsa inclusive is disappointing. The place is beautiful.

A bit pricey. Small servings. Could have been a bit bigger or at least included some sides like rice and beans or salad or something. Spending over $400 for lunch for the 4 of us and still leaving a bit hungry. Not so great. Love the taste of some of the food. Like the twist on regular Mexican food. Not all food was great though. Chicken Al tambor taco was not great. Fried and tough to chew. The tamarind, filet mignon and lobster were good. Overall a good experience but won't be going on a regular basis.
