If you love Indian food than you got to check this spot out! Definitely always scared to try Indian food because it always seems to spicy for me but they give you a scale 1-10 on how spicy you want it !! We started things off with their signature tandoori wings and they were amazing ! My wife got the traditional chicken tikka masala, I had a bite and it was delicious. I got the mango pineapple curry with lamb meat and it was spectacular! I wanted it more !! Over my rice and it just so amazing ! Highly recommend it. We also had some somosa which were yummy. And we finished things off with some mango dessert they had. Definitely coming back here ! Lots of seating and service was great !

Everything tasted excellent. We had the mango soup, garlic naan, herb baked salmon, mango and pineapple curry with chicken, and a desert called rusmalai which are soft cheese patties cooked in a sweetened creme and pistachios. The fish was so fresh and the sweet fruit really complimented the bold spices so typical of indian food. Cant wait to come back and try more of their menu

SoCal Tasting embarked on a culinary voyage to India at Royal India, Del Mar, San Diego. We dove into the signature dishes like the rich and creamy Chicken Makhani, Chilli ginger curry, flavorful Aloo Tikki, Samosa chaat and paired them with the amazing selection of Indian beer and other cocktails. Indulged in the melt-in-your-mouth naans and aromatic Onion Kulcha. Vegetarian options abound, ensuring a delightful experience for all. Must visit for an unforgettable tasting journey! Amazing service and beautiful ambiance.

Worms... I got parasites from eating there.I saw them 1 day later in my left overs but I didn't want to believe it. I tried to see how I was feeling. I think my food was someone else's leftovers or just not warm or pulled from trash idk. I was going to go to complain but I was so sad that it may have been intentional so I never mustard the courage to take my left overs there. I now have a active parasite that I am trying to get rid of. This place has questionable practices. I went here because of rating but when I look again at the negative comments I see my experience. It's there many others. The staff or whomever have a lot of... I mean a lot of fake 5 star ratings that causes the rating to look like a higher but the hygiene is very very risky to your health and life. I am not even angry anymore. I am truly so heartbroken and sad. I just want to save someone's life. There are so many terrorists on America soil these days, I don't know what to think anymore. Eat at your own risk of health. I had the chicken biryani.

Lovely, large restaurant. Our two dishes, saag (spinach) with lamb were tasty and flavorful but served at practically room temperature. When I mentioned this to our waiter, who was very friendly, he just smiled and nodded....I like my food hot or at least very warm so unfortunately I won't be back any time soon. The place was practically empty at 7 pm on a Saturday night....

We really enjoyed the ambiance, the food and service. Everything was very good. The pistachio ice cream was very tasty, with a twist. A must try.

We had lunch specials and the food was mediocre at best !! The naans were definitely not fresh and they were hard and crunchy ..

Amazing environment, service, food, and drinks! The food was delicious. I would recommend this as it is very elegant but also has a family friendly environment . I plan to return soon!

I invited three friends for lunch at Royal India. They ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio (Baron Herzog) wine. When I received the bill I was shocked to see the restaurant's price for this wine is $55. The retail price is $10. When I asked the owner about the price gouging, he made excuses about his operating costs. Not even the pricey restaurants in the area charge $55 for a $10 bottle of wine. This place is a ripoff!

Royal India was my first San Diego Indian restaurant experience over two decades ago. The food here is very good, as is the service. We always have to have an order of Samosas (4/5 $8 for 2 pc). Restaurant interior is simple, providing a sense of peace and tranquility. I placed an online order through Yelp for take-away lunch today. Timing was perfect ... food was ready as I walked in the front door!

Great little lcoation in quiet area of fashion valley. I was on a long bike ride and had to get my fix. Immediately I was welcomed by Angel and he was very pleasant and kind, he gave me the inside scoop on the food. It was great food I only got the basics. Try the naan with hummus, I was pleasantly surprised that they cut it into small shareable pieces a little different but cool from how it is usually presented. Also got Chicken Tikka masala level 5 spicy ( not that hot) and it was glorious. The price is respective to the area you are in and the quality and service is worth what you pay.

I came here today for lunch and I went to open the door and it was locked the boy sitting at the reception desk behind the glass started rudely pointing and telling us they were closed. I didn't realize they were closed for lunch so we saw they opened back up at 4:30pm. Shortly after 15 mins later we came back at 4:34pm and still yet there doors were locked and the boy sitting by the window laughing and telling the other employee that we are "crazy". The serve then came and opened the door to greet us and showed us to the table. The entire time the server was good he was doing everything else too all while serving all the customers in a timely manner while the boy just sat there at the reception ignoring all customers.the food here was ok but being my first time here I wouldn't come back because of how I was treated from the reception boy left a sour taste in my month. When you expect a place to open at a certain time the business should not waste a customers time.

As soon as you walk in, you feel an air of peace and tranquility with a little bit of elegance mixed in as you hear the water passing on a little waterfall, and relaxing music in the background. You're welcomed in right at the entrance. There was some available seats when my friend and I showed up so we were seated shortly after arrival. I would recommend the mixed tandoori grill, it has multiple different meats and great for sharing. I also tried the chili ginger masala, so if you like spicy food that tastes good, this is a dish for you. They also have a really good mango lassi! The del Mar location is inside of a large shopping area, and there's plenty of parking.

Great place, great food, great service but very expensive for vegatarian Indian food. 3 dishes with 3 different Nan, $135 with tip. We didn't order any expensive meat dishes. Not sure I will go again but I have to admit, it was good. Most restaurants whimp out when you request spicy but they delivered.

Food is average, prices are way(!) too high. Chicken Tikka Masala $23, garlic naan $8. Not worth it, overpriced.
