Nearly every time I have gone or ordered from Rubio's something has been not right. From missing items or just wrong order but more times than I can count... I have ordered and paid for the 'especial' tacos and served the regular tacos. This time again. When ordering especial. I was asked 'You mean the fish tacos'? I mean especial taco plate. I was charged for the especial fish taco plate but when I got home and opened the big box. There were 2 regular fish tacos. Nothing else! No bean No rice No chips. And the crispy taco shells, gone! I was left with 2 tortillas and both were RAW! The pieces of fish were about 2 inches in length. Not sure how any place can screw it up that often and as much as they do. Different locations also. One of the questions above being the atmosphere. In all the years of going here I have never seen more than 2 tables occupied and eating. People will wait for orders at tables but not eat there. I know I have never stayed and eaten there. Uninviting as you can get. I'm not doing the cap on Rubio's. Just wish Rubio's would pick a lane. If you're fast food. Get a drive thru. If you're a restaurant. Get some real chairs and tables. Maybe a piece of art. Stay away from the cafeteria looks. Be consistent!!

Initially, I was unaware of how close this Rubio's is to my workplace - it's just a 5-10 minute drive down the street. What sets this Rubio's apart is its exceptional cleanliness and the friendly demeanor of the entire staff. The parking is easily accessible, and the seating areas are well-maintained. Compared to other locations I've visited, this Rubio's is notably spacious. Despite going during the lunch hour, the lines were surprisingly short. The front crew efficiently managed the flow of customers, ensuring a quick turnaround while addressing individual needs. I opted for the California bowl with steak as my protein choice. I'd like to give a shoutout to Brittiny for efficiently taking my order and providing information about ongoing promotions. Her positive demeanor stood out, and Rubio's should be appreciative of having such a wonderful employee. In conclusion, I highly recommend this Rubio's to anyone in the area seeking coastal-inspired cuisine.

Honestly I was very disappointed. As can be seen in the picture the meat was dry & burnt. This is the 2nd time I’m disappointed with this location. I think I will drive a little further to another location next time.

One star for edible food. One star for fundraising opportunities for local organizations. Today was our third and final time giving this location a chance. Placed an order for 5:30pm pickup. The last two times we had been there, orders were delayed, so today we show up at 5:45pm for pickup. Our order wasn't ready until 6:22pm. Not sure if this is an issue with this location or the way corporate has things set up, but it's really not that hard to program the system to allow a maximum number of orders per x amount of minutes.

Don't know what happened, but every order we have placed from Rubio's, they stopped heating the corn tortillas! Mexican food no-no! First, my husband and I have always been a fan of Rubio's. It's our go-to on the weekends when we don't feel like doing meal prep and cooking ourselves. Disappointment alert..... for the past 3-4 months we have ordered pick-up from our app and our order is pretty much the same each time. The food prep/cooks have suddenly stopped heating the corn tortillas which makes the food disgusting and it's a mess to try to eat.

Taco Tuesday is overwhelming in carmel mountain store & camino Del Mar store.Better in Ranch Bernardo.But the classic fish taco ? is still delish. If you ask for white sauce & salsa on the side so it won’t get soggy.The Wait is crazy long once you order. I’m very disappointed they only serve beer & soft drinks. Used to have mini wine white/red. I don’t like beer at all.

Last time at Rubio‘s was eight years ago on our last trip to San Diego. And we had to have Rubio‘s.We were there off hours and the restaurant was very quiet. The burrito was too big for me to finish. The choice of salsa is incredible. Really wish we had these in Texas.

We just had a delicious lunch, verde shrimp taco, original fish taco, steak street tacos, chips and beans. Everything is so flavorful and tasty, they never cut corners here. The salsa bar is outstanding, excellent service, lovely outdoor seating. Love it!

Are you in the mood for some nachos with stale chips, no cheese, and canned refried beans?! Well then this is the place for you! For only a 30 minute wait on a wooden bench, you can have all that AND they'll even throw in a little glob of warm sour cream with it!
