I wasn’t expecting to like this place as much as I did. I’d known of the location in Little Italy and the ones in LA for years but had never got around to going. I went to this new location on a bit of a whim and really loved the ice cream. It is heavier than most ice cream, and they have unique flavors and give heaping portions. The coffee & love nuts and cinnamon snickerdoodle we’re both quite good. Definitely worth trying this place out.

This is my favorite ice cream. Full stop. While I lived in Portland, it had one location. Now it has multiple locations, and I keep debating visiting those (from the east coast)- just to eat at salt and straw. The good It's delicious. The flavors that are special (to me) are those that combine salty and sweet for the most unique flavors. The so so: The flavors are very hit and miss. You need to find the one that works for you. My favorite is the almond brittle and salted chocolate ganache. It's now seasonal. It is the perfect blend of salty and sweet. If you love super sweet ice cream- this might not be your ideal spot. Don't expect chocolate chip or vanilla with caramel. These flavors are very different.
I tried some flavors had the malted chocolate cookie dough and it just wasn’t good. I didn’t even wanted to finish it. Not a big fan.

I have gone here several times and I have always had a great experience here. First the people working are always friendly and welcoming. You are able to get an unlimited amount of samples and the workers encourage you to try as many samples as possible. The ice cream flavors are all so good and I highly recommend trying the seasonal flavors because they are so unique and are there for a limited amount of time. My favorite flavor here is the gooey brownie which had actual brownie chunks inside but all the flavors are amazing. The waffle cones are also amazing here because they are freshly made every day. Just to give you a heads up this place tends to get incredibly crowded with the line going outside the door a lot of the times.

They have a good selection of vegan options that are good, especially the coconut ice cream. Though, don't go if you're concerned about the amount of sugar in their ice cream. It is delicious with sugar rush, but not very flavorful.
