Don't expect to get a drink at the bar without waiting 20 min or more. Yeah, and there was only 1 person ahead of me in line. Bartender doesn't know how to multi-task.

Ordered buffalo wings. Fries were included. Wings were more like chicken tenders but it was delicious. Recommend for a snack

We made formal dinner reservation for 8:15 pm on a Friday evening. We arrived at 8:10 and the place was empty, save for one elderly couple dancing. We were seated, waited a bit, then someone came to hand us a drink menu. They causally said, while walking away, “fyi our kitchen is closed for the night.”Okay. ??

We have recently returned from a fabulous holiday in San Diego and have loved the great atmosphere and friendly welcome in the Salt & Whiskey Bar whilst residing at the Horton Grand. The cocktails from Tyler and Mike are delicious and the two hosts Ruby and Beth are very friendly creating a perfect ambiance. We were lucky to listen to Alejandro and some guest singers making a wonderful jazz atmosphere. On arrival on our first night Victor was on hand to provide some tips and guidance alongside a friendly smile and during the day time Robert on the door was also happy to chat and give local recommendations. The bar really is a must if staying in the Gas Lamp area as full of charm and well managed by Roberta.

I had the best time at this place! My first time and the drinks were amazing, service was great, company was pleasing, I would definitely come back again!! I suggest the Red Dead Redemption's and Albert's Old Fashioned :) I'm a savory girl and he suggested the steak.... I ended up eating the whole thing.....5 stars in my books! Give that guy a raise!

Great food and ambiance Albert was my server super helpful, they had live music which wasn't too loud where you can't hear anything or anyone. This place has the best whiskey selection in town. I got the steak, and my wife got the salmon. Both were cooked exceptionally well. The salmon skin was fried to perfection and still flaky while the steak was cooked medium and outside charred with And amazing flavor. Will definitely go back before or after a Padres game

food was bland and drinks were weak, way to over priced for what it is… which was a bummer because I was excited to check this place out, but i was ultimately disappointed.. honestly i recommend any other resturants in the area over this one.. unimpressed

We jumped off the Old Town Trolley and walked right in for breakfast. It was unassuming for breakfast since it's name had Whiskey in it. The trolley manager explained the name meaning came from the two imports-then it made sense. This restaurant is located inside the Horton Grand Hotel. Wow! The hotel and restaurant are a cool spot to check out. We ordered coffee which was very delicious. Overnight oats were topped with berries and came with condensed milk, brown sugar and honey. We only used the honey. We ordered the breakfast with three eggs, toast, 2 slices of perfectly cooked thick bacon, one sausage patty and potatoes. It came with a side of butter but the toast had the butter already caked on, which was disappointing. Why give so much butter if there isn't anything to butter up? Definitely an oversight by the kitchen. After your meal walk next door to the courtyard area of the hotel.
