I would give no stars if I could but I was there 4/1 and waiter working 9-10 close was rude and inattentive. I ordered 5 pounds of crawfish I never received it and she never said kitchen was closed just horrible communication.

We visited for a birthday celebration, as we were staying a block away and passed Saltwater a couple of times. We were disappointed. The place seems unmanaged. We chose to sit at the bar and the guy did his best, but the "welcome" by the host was surly and other staff were observed on their phones and ignoring customers. We had said it was a special occasion, but no-one ever mentioned that. On the Saturday of St Paddy's Day weekend, it was extraordinarily quiet, which perhaps says something. The crab cakes to start were just OK, so we revisited our decisions for entrees, sharing fish & chips - also mediocre - and calling it a night, going elsewhere for desert and a glass of wine.

Wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time because we are visiting, and we are now going to be coming back every time. Outdoor ambiance is lovely, and the two very kind bussers turned on the heaters for us. Alec was our server and he was very knowledgeable and nice. Seriously great staff here, loved all of them. :) Food was delish too! Way better than Water Grill lol.

Edit: I came again to eat here after about a year. Big change in attendance. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Thanks, Tom. I ordered the veal ravioli. It's a bit spicy and delicious with cheese. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cheese cake. It was sooo good. I loved the strawberry sauce that came on it.

Came in early for happy hour and a snack with our kids... What a find! Delicious clam chowder and truffle fries. My son loved the lobster mac and cheese. Happy hour prices were very reasonable, and our server was awesome and made us feel great.Kid-friendliness: It was very kid friendly! Though keep in mind we were there quite early, around 4:30 pm.

“If I don’t stop by the table for while but you need something, just flag anyone down. They’ll help you” is a crazy way for a server to start a dinner service. This place was abysmal. We are currently at another restaurant, ordering A SECOND dinner to wash the taste out of our mouths. The cocktails were watered down and mostly simple syrup (look at the menu, it’s the second ingredient in everything). The saltwater salad had a pile, yes a big ploppy pile of mushy red onions on it, smothered in Newmans Own Raspberry Vinaigrette. The restaurant was dirty as well. Litter on the floors, water spots on all of the glassware and the windows looked like a dude had spent the afternoon showing patrons that he could spell his entire name on them using only the inside of his lips.We started to feel bad for the staff. It was as if they knew the experience was bad but, it was out of their hands. In short, avoid this tourist trap.

Beautiful restaurant and experience. The waiter was amiable and well-versed in the dishes we ordered. Came with a friend to try restaurant week and it was worth it! Came during the week so it felt like we had our own little section to ourselves. Would definitely go back, the stuffed sole and crab cakes were delish!

We had a meal here with some visitors from out-of-town. It had a good atmosphere inside. We ordered the oysters, a plate with half of each of the two types they had. What came out wasn’t obviously of two types. They also didn’t have a lot of brine. The ciopino was good with several kinds of fish. Desert was a highlight. The wine list was not extensive. The markup is a lot. It would be nice to have some better ones in the 50-60 dollar range. They had one Albariño for example but it wasn’t great - they could have had better ones for the same actual price of the bottle. We had to ask several times to get bread for the table. Finally, one of our party did end up sick the next day from the food.

The evening started off with receiving a broken high chair and they only had one for the entire restaurant. It came time to order but it seemed that nothing was available, the fryer was broken so I couldn't order fish and chips and they were out of several wines that were on the menu. We settled for Cesar salads and soup. I made the mistake of requesting that my soup be warmed up due to holding my 11 month old and never saw it again. However, when it came time to pay I was charged for the fish and chips and the clam chowder that was never heated up and returned. This was a horrible experience and I will never dine there again

We loved everything about this restaurant – the decor is all about the ocean, the oysters were delicious, all of our entrées were interesting and delicious. Perhaps what made this so outstanding was the service from our waiter. He was attentive and knowledgeable, making the experience seamless for us. It is on the expensive side, but is perfect for a special dinner.

Went for Valentine's Day dinner, food was ok but overpriced for what was received. Lobster was rubbery, tomahawk wasn't well seasoned. We requested a split for the $185 steak but we were told that wasn't an option. So needless to say, the service and ability to put the customer in front of the kitchen failed to happen. Definitely wouldn't return for a $400 dinner for two.

We booked dinner here for about 40 people as part of a corporate event. The food was very disappointing. Clam chowder was really clammy, the calamary was rubbery, and the steak was tough considering the price. The oysters were OK. No one in our 40 person group had good things to say beyond the friendly staff This is the last time I and my company will be dinning here.

Great location in the Gaslamp with impeccable service. The food was very good, however a bit on the pricey side. We ordered the branzino, served whole, which was plenty for two people to share, and added a couple of sides. You cannot go wrong with the lobster mac & cheese! We plan on returning to try their happy hour, many of the same dinner menu items at a much lower cost.

Amazing food. Excellent service. Happy Hour on a Saturday night gets an extra star! I cant say enough about how great of a meal it was. My steak was cooked to absolutely perfection. Every side was outstanding. Out server Thomas was a sweetheart and very attentive. We appreciate you Thomas!
