This small sushi restaurant is the place to be. I asked for sushi that would be unforgettable and I was served multiple courses of big eye tuna, aged wagyu, snapper, and more. I had the deep fried PB&J for dessert and was amazed on how delicious it was. There aren't words in the English language to describe how delicious the sushi was.Goody was an amazing chef who curated the perfect dishes. All around a great cozy atmosphere to enjoy the best sushi ever.

Yes, it lives up to such a high rating. We went boujee and nothing disappointed.Hamachi belly and tuna belly were both very good and amazing for the price.Hidden menu items were primo and the service was on par with $$$$ restaurants. Great attention to detail and felt cozy. Also, tempura PB&J (with ice cream): Fat Kid Approved ?Dietary restrictions: Gluten free soy sauce availableWheelchair accessibility: No steps of ramps required for indoor or outdoor seating

The fish quality at this place is great. Sashimi is definitely the move at SoCal Sushi. It's a tiny place, which we love, and service is pretty good.I have to dock a star for the roll choices though. We could not find any roll with a decent topper that didn't also have spicy tuna inside, seriously there are like 7 or 8 rolls like this out of maybe 12 available. Tough luck if you are a salmon or yellowtail lover. I get that this place specializes in tuna, but putting spicy tuna in everything is a bad look...We will continue to come back here for sashimi, but we would come more often if there was some diversification in the roll category.

Come here for Sushi if you're looking for a great spot in the Normal Heights area. Bomb sushi. I recommend going for Chef's Special Rolls or their latest Omakase offering.

My go to sushi spot, it’s a small restaurant but full of delicious food. They are family operated, everyone I’ve met so far has been very hardworking and kind. My favorite rolls are the Alaskan and Rainbow. The salmon skin roll and their nigiri selection are other favorites. Very fresh, rolls are perfectly rolled every time and not so big it’s a struggle to eat. Their appetizers are delicious as well, the tempura mix and hamachi kama are great. *Parking on side streets is much easier!*
The food was delicious! And the service was great!

BEST NIGIRI EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Ate here for the first time recently with a friend who is a regular. I’m only angry I didn’t eat here sooner.Everything was so fresh! So delicious! I like the ambiance, it’s cozy and welcoming, and has that “hole in the wall” vibe which I personally LOVE. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back!
