This is one of my favorite theaters. Hope they will reopen soon. The chairs are very comfortable and relaxing. The staff is not great about making sure noone is bothering anyone.

If The Lot and a frat house had a baby, this would be it. One part dine in movie theater, one part Gas Lamp booze den with average Mexican food. Honestly the movie experience was fine, it just seems a little aged, maybe not kept up as well as it could be, but more or less comfortable. If you want the real bougie dine-in experience (or if you're old like we are), you'll skip this and go for The Lot, tried and true but a bit more expensive, but if you just want to have a burrito delivered to your seat and a beer, this place will suffice. The staff were lovely.

I come here only because it's walking distance downtown, otherwise it's total crap. You can tell from every aspect that no one cares here. Most of the time no one checks your ticket, so just come watch free movies if you want. They don't clean between movies so good luck choosing a seat. You better hope the last people cleaned up after themselves. Came for a movie and they don't even have popcorn and aren't providing any seat service. Bring your own snacks and alcohol cause they don't even try to serve you.

I celebrated my birthday here, it was SO FUN AND AMAZING! The service from Nancy was above and beyond. They made sure my table had a fun, amazing time. The manager was also extremely accommodating and kind. The group there led by Nancy, really made sure that I had the best birthday. I couldn’t believe how great they were. I am definitely a lifelong customer.

Not sure if it was just the evening but as you can see they sat us in the worse spot of the place, there was hardly anyone. Maybe cause I’m from Los Angeles I was excepting something better, there was no candy room, there was a hair in my daughter burger, we told them, the burger was good but they still charged us, also they had no rubber duck , which is a standard for The mini burger and the blue drink for a child was 39 dollars , which is stupid. I’m assuming they are trying to make it more of an adult place? Not sure but it does not have the charm that we had in Los Angeles. The waitress was nice, but nothing to write home about. If your looking for that fun ,candy environment I woudl not recommend it, about two blocks down there is a great ice cream place and a candy place. Also there is restaurants around There that are amazing and better quality food and not as much money. I ordered the grilled cheese and I ate it cause it was soo expensive and I wa a hungry, but my daughter makes a better one. Such a bummer

This manager should be fired!!!! This place is discussing and no leadership. The place is disgusting. See pictures. The bright light we're left on even after letting them know. We kept trying to order food but had to go to the front cuz no one showed up. Love this place but it needs new management!!!!

This was my first visit to San Diego, Sugar Factory. We had the rainbow pancakes and chicken and waffles. It was so cute! Our friends got the burgers and they were massive and juicy. I had a bite of the big cheese and wish I had my own. The service was also incredible. The server was busy so the manager, Brittany came over and took our orders, brought our food and checked to make sure we were happy. She took the time to ask us about the sights and gave ideas for other local fun before we leave. It was a wonderful experience and we wish we lived closer!

I'm so sad because we were so looking forward to this experience! The drink I ordered was $18 and didn't look or taste good..it was funky like mold. The menus smelled like a dirty dish rag...trash on floor...on seats...just don't get it. No candy or merchandise to purchase bc they closed that section. One good comment is that our server was super friendly and she was hustling to take care of all her tables ? The burgers were tasty..But unfortunately the atmosphere was nothing like the hype

What a wild place! Definitely a new experience. Large menu and amazing drinks. The goblet drinks are pretty awesome. They pour your drink over the ice at your table and the picture shows what happens. ☺️ So much to look at. The candy store was closed as it's under construction. I will be going back for sure.

I was wary going here because of the reviews, but is was awesome! Our server, Sean, was attentive and friendly. He gave us some great recommendations and we had an amazing meal. The burger was juicy and the bun was a little crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The onion rings and dipping sauces were delicious and shakes were out of this world! We will definitely be back.

Rude, disinterested employees, “meh” food at exorbitant prices, and God help you if you need captioning devices that they claim to have. The disinterested manager told me they have to be reserved several days in advance and then they’d see what they can do. Other theaters have the nice recliners and some have their own “meh” food service. (Stick to popcorn, it’s hard to ruin). Our seats were comfortable, but my daughter’s was broken down. Overall it looks and feels rundown and is staffed by disinterested employees. It’s nothing special. Look at the full dinner salad I ordered for nearly $20 and the sad, soggy, side salad size salad they finally brought me. The server had to make three trips to deliver two entrees, then eating utensils, then napkins. But that was about 1/2 hour after he’d taken our order, so it was really 5 trips, no! 6! One to take the order, one to bring our beverages, one to come up and ask again what we ordered (‘cause he forgot), then the three others I already mentioned, and Dave just reminded me that at about 1 hour 40 minutes, they brought us some huge random sandwich we didn’t order. He tried to hand it to several other people after we refused, so he started eating it as he carried it back to the kitchen. Just don’t go.

This is the only way to watch movies. I've been to a few different luxury theaters and this was my first time here. It's connected to the sugar factory. There is a nice bar upstairs where the theater is located. You can grab a drink and snack before going in. You can also order food and drinks once you are seated. There is a button you can for push anytime to get the server. There is small swivel table on each seat. It's all assigned seating which I love. And you recline your seat back with a foot rest. Think lazy boy chair but in a movie theater. My only complaint was the sound proofing between the walls we could hear the sound of the jurassic park movie next door during our movie. Parking is a bit inconvenient here as well. Downtown has a few streets blocked of permanently for outdoor dining and walking. Overall good experience loved the movie Top Gun Maverick. I am happy we got to see it in theaters.

The gentleman that worked tonight all by himself did an excellent job! Would definitely come again just for having him be so friendly and caring!

Overall: my first time visiting any Sugar Factory and I must admit, this was a fun experience. The decor was interesting, the music was full of vybz, the food was beautiful and delicious, and the milkshakes were creative and filling. I highly recommend anyone to experience a Sugar Factory whenever possible!Food: I basically built my own burger and asked them to add plantains on it which they happily fulfilled for me. The food was a lot, even for just a burger and fries. I had a basic vanilla milkshake but it paired well with my fries. The only thing was the straw became difficult to drink from after a while. It's a paper straw.Service: my servers were competent and helpful. They worked the system so I wouldn't have to pay too much extra to build the burger of my dreams.
