Food was fantastic, and they have some interesting Hispanic Japanese fusions. Only problem is they seemed understaffed, one table busser and one poor girl running hostess and waitress duties. Overall highly recommended.

Their new vegan ramen is pretty good and creamy! The tofu was well seasoned, other toppings were yummy, and the spinach noodles were chewy and springy!

I started with the brussels sprouts, very tasty! Then I had the creamy chicken ramen with added corn, and it was really good! They have a chilipaste (I think?) that you can add if you want more spice. Good vibes in the restaurant (not loud music), very kind staff.

One of the best Ramens I have ever had. I’m a vegetarian, so Ramen is a tough dish to find that’s actually impressive and vegetarian. Tajima nailed it. Also their Garlic Edamame is insanely tasty.

Thanks for asking about the service. Your food is very good, and service is good in general. But the issue is, we ordered a fried rice besides the two ramens, and for some reason the kitchen team forgot about this dish. We asked for check out anyways, and surprisingly the fried rice was still on the bill and no one noticed it until I double checked it.

The spicy sesame ramen is different to the standards yet very delicious. Corn and onions added a nice touch. Would love to come here again when in San Diego:

Inside is comunal seating a bit cramped but nice atmosphere, service isn't fast so if you're in a rush and ordered a pick up order be ready to wait at least 10 - 15 minutes once you arrive. If staying to dine in on the outside terrace, you may notice all the transients setting up rents in the parking spots adjacent to the restaurant, I've had a couple approach me and my group asking for change or food.
Tajima Ramen East Village is a haven for ramen enthusiasts, offering a tantalizing selection of authentic Japanese noodle soups. From rich and savory tonkotsu to flavorful miso, each bowl is a culinary masterpiece crafted with care and expertise. Had the chicken dumpling ramen, taste was just ok. Broth felt stale. The dumplings def tasted like the frozen ones you can buy from trader joe’s. They said they stopped serving chashu chicken. All in all a bit disappointed. If I don’t hear Irrashaimasu when someone walks into the restaurant i should’ve known this isn’t going to be authentic

Nice place. Decent ramen and a clever menu. Inattentive staff - our server left work before giving us the check, we had to hunt someone down to pay!
