This Toronto seafood restaurant is overrated. Service excellent but food not up to the hype. Lobster dry and unimpressive. Oh well...

Can I just start with I MISS YOU! I L-O-V-E this place and have enjoyed more happy birthdays, "why-the-heck-nots", etc. there than I can remember (Cue background: floating hearts, butterflies, soft luvin' music...).It's a classic restaurant with beautiful decor, the food is excellent, cocktails are on point (ehem SLDM's), the service is excellent, and staff is super friendly and welcoming. Yes, it's in the Gaslamp, and yes there's the occasional tourist invasion, but it's only because they're so awesome! We forgive you my precious.P.S. If you like Martinis then this will become your new obsession...other than Old Venice in PL of course ;0)

This place is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. everytime I feel like having a fair meal, this place comes first to my head. best and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.professional staff members, and nice atmosphere. Not less important, the tariff is reasonable. I suggest this spot with no doubt.

Great food, great staff. James and Sade do great work at the bar. Try the shrimp and grits happy hour appetizer... yummy.

We've been here many times over the years. Usually for a special night out, like birthday, Valentine's or Anniversary. It's always special, and well served, both quality of food, and service. Yes, it's pricey, but that goes with the territory at this fine dining, white tablecloth establishment. Examples: tuna carpaccio, $17; Seafood mixed grill, $49; Halibut, with added Dynamite (crab), $58. This is part of the national chain of restaurants, operated under Landry's, yet the service is local. On a recent dinner, on Valentines Day, which is likely their busiest days of the year, we ordered two splits of sparkling wine to start. It was a cheap domestic, which it turned out, neither of us liked. We returned it, and ordered other wines, and they credited our splits!!! We'll be back!!!

This review is for a visit I had on Sunday, happy hour, before the coronavirus pandemic. Excellence service , food, drink, decor, and ambiance. Portion on the apps and happy hour are good and satisfying. Oyster are good size and decently priced. You can't beat their happy hour specials.

The food was ok. I probably should have order something else. I did enjoy them lighting up the dessert on fire. The server was very good. She was very friendly and helpful.

Really great happy hour menu! Great $1 oysters and tasty drinks. Also, really nice ambiance inside and attentive service. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

3/12/20 it was mine and my boyfriends first time here but definitely won't be our last. We came here for dinner and on the second floor is were the dinning is at. The ambiance is very nice and classy but nothing surprises me with my honey. He always spoils me to very classy restaurants. We both ordered the lamb racks $59 each and they were delicious and well seasoned. We both were surprised because we normally get a sauce to go with our steak but not here. It's bit pricey if your on a budget but if you're trying to score points with your honey. Take her/him here you for sure will get the price. Idk what kind of pasta was on our plate but that was delicious as well. For appetizers we got calamari and shrimp with grits; OMG!! yum yum yum! We had excellent customer service. We will definitely be back and make this place one of our favorite places.

My friend and I ate there twice on our recent visit to San Diego. The happy hour oysters were great and for only $1 each! The fresh fish and shrimp and grits were just the right portions and very tasty. The scallops are some of the biggest we’ve eaten and were cooked to perfection. The key lime pie is a great way to end your experience. Not to be forgotten, our severs Jason and Andrea made us feel like family and knew the menu inside and out. Pricey? A little, but well worth it.

We had 8 guests for a business dinner. The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful with meal selections. The food was perfect. I had the simple preparation Halibut and my husband has the Filet. Wonderfully prepared.

Don't usually do bad reviews, but given that I was expecting to be "Wow"d and was instead quite disappointed I'm making an exception. I had the Grilled Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallops plate (forget its proper name). One of the scallops tasted burnt (the other one was fine), the lobster was dry, and the shrimp were overcooked as well. If this wasn't a fancy seafood restaurant I could overlook this...it wasn't horrible, just sub-par. These are simple things...things I cook better at home...and for the price I expected more. The guys with me that had steak said they were good. The other guy that had the same thing as I did agreed with my assessment. It wasn't overly crowded on a Friday night (busy enough but no wait). The ambiance was nice, the waitstaff friendly and attentive, but ultimately the food just was lacking.
