I was here in January, and I was amazed. It had the charm of the Big Sur area, some of the aestetics of Laguna Beach, the vibe of Santa Cruz, and the temperature of Eureka. It was an unusually cold spell, but as I walked North to Del Mar proper, the views reminded me of so many other parts of California. I imagined this coastline as what Laguna Beach likely looked like many decades ago.There's a path and parking, but I walked here from a hotel, and it only added less than a mile. As California always does with a new discovery, you are left wishing you knew about it sooner so you could have visited it more often. It was a great hike, not challenging and very scenic.

There are many places to hike at the Torrey Pines Reserve, and we have been there many times rain or shine. You can't go wrong with any of the trails. If heading down to the beach, try to time it during low tide to see the tide pools and reefs.

A must visit for outdoor lovers. Not only spectacular views of the ocean...but the mountains and surrounding communities. Trails had surprises around every corner. The quaint lodge/nature center at the top of the climb was both a historical enjoyment and another great view.
