I experienced their catering in a Nordstrom back to school event which was so fun and surprising. I have eaten at the cafe many times but I have been wanting to try their catering for a while. I didn't have any big event coming up so luckily Nordstrom came through. The food and drinks were amazing and the whole event was phenomenal.

Since new owners, they keep hours of their convenience, they take no cash which means as a business they loose a lot of money to paying credit company.Now they put excessive garlic in dishes . People are allergic to garlic, excessive garlic burns tongues. This is not Southern Italy, try Northern Italy cooking. I have beeb disappointed each time I have stopped by, Today, Friday, in rush to close up. Barely got there. I do not purchase at level I used to purchase there. Owners need to learn better business.

Leslie and her team were excellent when we had a holiday lunch party for our office of 20 people. The food quality and taste were highly rated. Ingredients seemed very fresh, individually packaged for everyone to enjoy when convenient, delivery was on time. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. Price was very reasonable and response to email communication was prompt and professional. Highly recommend!!

The food is good but the prices are very high, and although the staff is very friendly, everyone seems to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Everything is chaotic, miscommunicated, and a total chore to complete.

Waters catered a corporate event for us last night, and the event could NOT have gone any better thanks to their incredibly professional, 5-star team! Special shout out to Monica and Spencer - you guys took the stress of planning out of everything! The food and service was beyond what we expected. I received several comments throughout the night that the servers and bartender were all SO nice and pleasant. The food was incredible and everyone raved about it. I truly appreciated the full service from set up to clean up, and beyond. It’s no question that we’ll use Waters for our events moving forward, and will recommend them to everyone we know and work with!

We loved working with Waters. Our family reunion was flawless from start to finish. The menu was customized to our personal tastes and their team was able to include a great variety for our gluten free and vegan guests! Not only were we wow’d by the food and overall experience, the servers and bartender went out of their way to make sure all of our guests were pleased. Waters is the BEST!

I was introduced to Waters as my company has ordered catering from them many times and we love the lunch spreads they bring in and they have done a phenomenal job with catering our office parties as well. Our staff loves their food and they have the best roast beef sandwich in town! Every time I am nearby, I love to stop by and ending up coming home with way more than just lunch. Their quiches are unrivaled and my whole family loves the pearled couscous salad. My vegetarian friend says the veggie sandwich is one of the best she has had and has been dying to get the recipe. The staff there is always super friendly and knowledgeable and it is apparent that they like what they do and take pride in their food. Such a nice change of pace from so many other places.

I have been to their downtown and Morena establishments. I have have their catering food at galas and events. Their consistent excellence in food preparation, presentation and service is without peers anywhere. I have had food that was not exceptional as I had come to expect, but that was a one off experience at a gala. Other than that, I have never had bad food from them nor did I ever have anything less than exceptionally pleasant, gently attentive service.As to the price, it's not McDonald, and it will never be, as long as it maintains its superlative quality, nor will it ever have the price of McDonald's as there is a cost incurred in having hand selected, locally grown, quality food. I go to McDonald's as my son likes to go there. I like the food there for what it is. I love the food at Water's cafe if I want to treat myself and do it without pretensions or pomp. It's food that's precious and made with genuine particular effort, not a mass produced, cheapest food available that's made to taste decent that is served by unnamed workers.During the 30 years that I have been living in San Diego, I found out that the owner has done many wonderful things for the community of San Diego. The place is the epitome of local business doing wonderful things in San Diego and for San Diego.I write on public forums rarely but that one review complaining about the price of food at Water's Cafe does not have proper perspective; and it is misplaced. If the price is the utmost concern, there are other places for that. I want the best value on the price, Water's cafe is the place. I have never been anything less than pleased and happy after having eaten at the Water's Cafe(s). I am grateful that we in San Diego has a local eatery like the Water's Catering. It's a San Diego Jewel.
I used to love this place but recently I've noticed some of the guys getting a little lax on food handling. No one wears gloves, they handle money then food, and I've caught a guy sneezing and not going to wash his hands. I'm not a clean freak but it makes me less excited to eat there.

I was hoping to make a comment without it going through the website but just wanted to say that I was very disappointed with my roast beef sandwich today. It was not cut in half and it was on a big roll instead of the other more flatbread/onion roll it came on before.
