This is not a restaurant. This is a hotel bar that serves attractive, nicely plated but astonishingly bland food that will make you desperate for hot sauce or even some salt and pepper shakers on the table. As hotel restaurants go, if you didn't want to go anywhere and desired a trendy place to sit and have a drink, this place deserves five stars. But if you find yourself in San Diego hungry and wanting some tasty food within walking distance, head over to Jack in the Box, which is where we went after seeing the positive reviews for Westerly and then making a valiant attempt to eat the beautiful, expensive, but frankly unbelievably tasteless food there. I don't know if I've ever been so disappointed in a culinary experience. Do not make the same mistake we did. Do not choose to go to Westerly. If you end up there, relax and have a nice drink, but do yourself a favor and do not eat there.

While the Westerly is a hotel restaurant and prices and decor reflect that captive audience, this is an excellent choice even when you are in a city that has some great food! Everything we tried was yummy, especially the flat bread. Service was top notch every time we ate there and refills were always very quick. If it’s nice out and the doors to the courtyard are open it’s lovely - but it might get loud on trivia nights. Parking could be a challenge but there should be some street options in this safe area.

This is a large divey -ish vibe meaning there's a lot of seating and tables but tiny bar area have a tread the food yet. I will update later.

We stayed at the hotel as guests and stopped in for Happy Hour Drinks and food. Cannot say enough how good everything was! We ordered the Truffle Mac n Cheese, Meatball, and Espresso Martini's. The food was phenomenal and these were some of the best Espresso Martini's we've had. Plus, the atmosphere is so great! We felt the happy hour menu didn't exactly have "happy hour" prices but still happy with what we ordered.

The service here is deeply broken. It took three employee requests, including the manager who was employee number two to finally get coffee to the table. You'd think when you tell a manager you're still waiting on coffee that he would tend to it himself, but nope. Water was never refilled, and one menu item never made it to the table, but DID make it onto the bill. And yellow hot dog mustard on a Croque Madame? And you better like Michael Jackson, because that was 100% of the background music...

First off ... It's not the WESTERLY! The hands have changed over to "Crafted Culture and I must start by saying that this is what I called "Unorthodox Fare" the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't GOOD either. Will I be returning? NO. I will say you go there thinking your getting what's on the WESTERLY menu and the waiters job is to "sell" to keep you there to "try" this food. He was great at it I must say. What was interesting is that he stopped us from ordering more... saying this was enough so far. He was right We had had enough! LolParking: First 2 hours free with validation. If you're not staying at the hotel

Two stars because the food was very tasty and the bartender was kind but i feel bad for the business owners because this place could be a hit if only the staff weren't so disconnected from how to give good service. The music was nice and created a great ambiance but the service staff are extremely inattentive, non-communicative, short, and untrained in hospitality. I work for Hilton and this establishment is not good for their reputation. Just as an example, the bartender didn't actually place my order until more than 14 minutes after I ordered from her, I timed her and she was 7-9 feet from the POS the entire time instead helped two different guests' when she should've rung in the food items first... easy fix. I ordered three drinks and three happy hour items throughout my two hour visit and two of three drinks were spilt by the service staff. Look at my check... I was charged a service charge in addition to the check showing only alcohol was rung in? Multiple staff members could be seen standing around with the manager sitting down doing nothing to assist the bartender or other staff while they were trying to help many guests' at once and also having to tend to the well, What is going on? I will make sure to never come to this hotel, and or restaurant ever again!

Made a reservation weeks ahead for half a dozen friends for my birthday. When we arrived, there was a bigger event going on in their (lovely) patio, and they seemed to have lost our reservation. They wanted to put us inside, but I had asked for outside and had to insist. Found the house drinks poor and expensive, but the more standard cocktails were OK. We didn't eat, just a few rounds of drinks. I'd recommend for your big event, but it's not made for a small gathering. After some initial stiffness, the staff were lovely. They got cake.

So this was our first time in SD and we were looking for a good breakfast place that had good reviews to try out on our annual vacation. When we went in the restaurant it was not too busy and it was drizzling outside so most people were sitting inside with the patio doors open; creating a great ambiance, so we were excited to try the food. Per the seating policy, we sat ourselves. The waiter saw us and greeted us from the bar. We sat for 10 min and did not receive a menu or water. Another customer came and was waited on within a minute, he was brought a menu and water. Before he was waited on, the manager told the waiter to not forget about us. Even with that prompt, he did not wait on us, but the new customer instead. We even joked, "watch this new customer get severed before us, while we have been waiting, hungry for 15 min," and what do ya know, the joke was on us.We did not feel valued as customers, so instead of causing a fuss, we left; letting the manager know our dissatisfaction. We most likely will not return based on this experience.

For a "hotel restaurant" the food was excellent. I was hesitant to go here, but I was wrong. The scallop and shrimp tart was the star of the evening.

Food was insanely over priced for a small portion and being just generally mediocre. Service was extremely slow and inattentive, with little to no other customers in the restaurant.
