The staff was great. The place was very clean. The burgers are overpriced for what you get. I went up to purchase another soda. I got $1.16 back out of a 5. The cup says 20oz and it is a 16oz.

Whomp burger fell flat of expectations from seeing all these high reviews. I assumed it would have fixins so regular Whomp Burger seemed naked. $13 for a size of In & Out burger without any fixings is pricey. Small burger shop but seatings are available inside and outside. SD native here and this place has the second best burgers in all of San Diego, and third place isn’t even close. And that’s no slight, it’s a compliment. The chicken sandos and floats are unreal as well. I’m assuming the salads are just as good. Highly recommend

so disappointing. 46 dollars for 3 burgers ( one being kids ) and it was cold and soggy and completely not worth it . hamburgers were tasteless . I'm sorry I wanted to like it but sadly it was not good .

Our new go to! Mike the owner welcomed us and our mini Aussie to sit out on the cozy covered patio. I got the regular Whomp burger...loved the sauce. The bun was soft and light. My husband got a double with bacon and was stuffed and happy, "This is delicious!" Tots and fries were hot, crispy on the outside...just right. Had a beer on tap and a nice glass of red wine. Nice little heater out here, tunes, and a big tv with football playing. They even have their own little parking lot which is hard to find in OB. Great spot.

After loads of turkey, I was dying for a burger. I had never been to Whomp Burger before. I ordered the Whomp burger and also had a root beer float! The burger was delicious, juicy and the sauteed onions enhanced my enjoyment. A root beer float! So yummy, the fanciest one I have ever had with whipped cream, sprinkles on top and a red licorice stick added as well. I savored it to the last sip.

Chicken sandwich was a little dry as well. Ranch was good so that saved it a little bit.Woman at front was very friendly and helpful. Ranch was good. Fries and chicken strips were good. Parking was available.May try again cause we live 3 mins away but first experience wasn’t very good.

From a food and quality standpoint - the whomp burger is delicious, flavorful, thoughtful and CONSISTENT. I’ve dined here several times enough to know that I ALWAYS get a 10/10 burger and fries. From a service standpoint - this small team is always diligent, friendly and happy. I am definitely not being biased cause I’m local in OB but man am I grateful to have this establishment in my neighborhood!!! This is not just another mediocre burger joint in OB. It is a hidden gem that deserves your patronage!!!
