My better half and I came here for a dinner date, and we had a very nice time. Oyster was fresh and large, and the yakitories were quite tasty, too. They had good selection of sakes of which we tried one and enjoyed. The only reason for the 4 stars was for a rather limited yakitory selections. I wish they had more seafood options such as shrimp or clams. Otherwise, my better half and I pigged out ($$$$, lol) and left satisfied. Reservation is pretty much required.

I really enjoyed this spot. Great chicken and pork belly. The beef was okay. Get a bowl of rice, takowasa.

This is one of the best yakitori spots in San Diego. It's a hidden jem. The food is phenomenal. The service is good. The atmosphere is cheerful. They have a good selection of sake, too.

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The inside is quite cozy so would definitely recommend making a reservation. We ordered a good amount of food to share amongst the six of us. Service was prompt and friendly. Would come back here if we were ever craving Yakitori again.

Made reservation for 5:30p and got seated right awayz The beef tougue skews are bomb! Oysters is a must!! Other dishes were delicious. I think this is the best yakitori you can get in SD.

A long time ago, Yakitori Yakyudori opened in Hillcrest and we frequented that restaurant almost weekly ?❤️ we moved away out of state and a couple of years ago found Taisho and it’s still our favorite Yakitori place ever. We’ve tried lots of different places. That binchotan grill makes a huge difference. ? service is always friendly. Small place, make a reservation.

We sat outside and loved the food. My friend who lived in Japan said it was authentic, I thought the presentation and taste was great!

You must go. If you are ever in San Diego this is not the spot to miss. The chef and staff are warm and welcoming. The food is out of this world and a lot of attention is taken to it. Also, some of the finest Japanese import alcohol. You really feel as if you are part of the family in the small space. Def call ahead if you want a seat!

Best yakitori in SD hands down!! My husband and I went they were able to accommodate us outside. The server got a space heater set up neatly and the overall experience was simple, clean and delicious!

OK WHERE DO I START. Hands down the best best best yakitori in north america. I have been to expensive and famous yakitori places such as Yakitori Torishin in NYC but that is not even on the same league here. The skewer master is a very professional lady who works wonder on every skewer she handed to me. I tear up every bite i took, and i know i will never go back to other yakitori places since they just all bad comparing to this one. I have literally tried every single skewer on the menu and nothing disappoints. In the end my wallet took a huge hit but i can sleep at peace. Definitely booking my flight back to San diego for this gem.

2nd attempt to dine in and learned my lesson to make a reservation. Some things came out a bit later than expected but all food was delicious and seasoned right. Only thing I like is crunchier chicken skin which was a bit underdone for me. Otherwise, love the free beer check in and everyone was so friendly, attentive, and nice. Will definitely be back.
