Super cute, simple coffee shop with excellent coffee. Cold brew and espresso are both well roasted with no bitterness.

I'm considered frugal in terms of buying coffee but this place is my daily goto! Love the noise and vibe in the morning, makes you feel alive

The roasted beans are great for those who have their espresso setups and are looking to pull well-balanced and well-rounded shots.

Always a great cup of coffee whether this location or the one in BayHo. The flavored drinks in BayHo are an expression of the talents of the Baristas. Keep at it.

For many, many years we considered this the best coffee shop in San Diego. But a few months ago the blend seemed to change from the traditional hummingbird to something not as creamy. It now lacks depth. I hope they will consider going back to the original blend as it was truly something spectacular.

They don't accept cash, they never have coffee 1 hour before closing.

The coffee here rivals anything I get in NYC, Montreal, Vancouver and other cities across the country. The service is great and the pastries too. Our favorite is the hamentaschen pastry. When my daughter had to come home from college during Covid we sat outside when we needed an escape from the suffocating atmosphere of being home all the time. She took her sketchbook and drew a picture of the setting of us sitting underneath the 805/5 freeway, with the Coaster train in the background. It was kind of a depressing scene, but suited the "times". We joked that the location is so bad, it was good! No question, the coffee and pastries and service compensate for the weird location.

Zumbar is a unique coffee shop and must visit if you are a coffee lover. They have a simple and small menu. The smell and the flavour of their coffee are very rich and smooth and does not taste bitter. I believe they roast beans at this location. It's pretty small and they have couple tables inside and outside. It's located in a small plaza but you can usually find a parking slot. It has a low-key vibe and the staff are friendly. Try out this coffeeshop if you enjoy a rich flavour of a coffee.

I have been all over the country. You can count on that everywhere I go I try the coffee. This coffee shop is definitely top 2 for me in the whole country! San Diego is a big city, and out of all things I have only 2 must stop by places. This coffee shop and Torrey pines trails.

I've been going here since they opened, always loved and recommended the hummingbird ristretto. It's been a while. I went back around Thanksgiving, and it wasn't the same. The staff was less attentive, the good croissants from Opera are gone since they closed. I got my double and walked out. Took a sip as I sat in my car on a call, and it wasn't the same buttery cup of joy I'm familiar with. I wrote it off and went about my day. 2 weeks ago I went back and had the same experience. Not sure if the person pulling shots knows what he's doing, but same bitter taste. Over extraction usually causes this. I wonder if the original staff all relocated to Encinitas or sold their share and left or this guy is on a caffeine and nicotine diet and has no taste buds. The mocha that was ordered was also not the same. Please fix this.

The coffee was pretty tasty. The music played in the cafe was very good, Spanish lyrics and Latin styles created a relaxed atmosphere. The music reflected flavors of the coffee and baked treats.Parking: Odd entrance to the site and there is limited parking. The lot is not overly small but it is one lot for a few storefronts.
