This is a great "no frill" neighborhood staples that cranks out all of the breakfast and lunch staples you can expect. Good food, affordable prices, and an old school atmosphere. This is a mom and pop kind of place and the staff if great.Don't get stuck waiting forever at the overhyped place next door, pop into Al's.

Final price at checkout is different and higher than the prices at their menu.

Had the pancake delight - dang it was good. The food was perfectly prepared - nothing fancy but top of the class for classic old school diner food. They don’t make them like these anymore.

I went with my friends for brunch and we were impressed. Food was quickly prepared and perfectly done. Prices were astoundingly affordable, about $11 per plate. My scramble had a very generous serving of meat alongside the perfect hash browns and some buttery toast. Meanwhile, the fruit waffles looked and tasted amazing! I recommend going when you want a good simple diner meal.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian breakfast options like omelets.Parking: It's relatively easy to street park around this part of Mission.

Breakfast is served all day! Yes yes yes please. Bloody Mary’s! Mimosas! Wine! Delicious homemade meals. Yes to it all!! A gem ? in the Mission. Gentrification sadly has been killing out neighborhood businesses ?Please support the OGs and locals.

I have been coming here since I was a teenager and I'm in my 30s now. Food is delicious and the prices are fair.i love the homage to all the old Hollywood stars. Must try when your in the neighborhood. I love the fish n chips and the French toast is so yummy.

Probably the best brunch in SF: so good and so reasonably priced, and the owner is so nice. Idk why people wait outside instead of just coming

Al's Place is a step back in time with lots of movie memorabilia, dolls and other assorted ketch to greet you. As for the food, American Traditional is what you'll get. Our group all ordered the Pancake Delight. Delightful it was with a couple of eggs (anyway you like), ham, bacon or sausage and the lightest, fluffiest pancakes ever. The kicker here was the value, twelve bucks for all that food. The quality was excellent, the service extremely friendly and the price was beyond right. Treat yourself right, have a Pancake Delight. Thanks for a great breakfast and say hi to Pee Wee for us!

Classic diner. Friendly owners selling solid home cooked comfort food for a good price. They'll keep your coffee cup full. Try the California cheesesteak or the chicken fried steak.

Rare remnant of a bygone age. Flawless classic diner food that won't blow your budget. Favorite spot on a lazy Sunday morning. Try the house-made hot sauce (more of a salsa) goes great with everything. The sausages are also a standout.

Great, classic, affordable diner food in the Mission. Came here on a weekday and it was pretty dark and dingy inside but the owner and staff were super friendly and kind. Enjoyed the food and service. Not too greasy and tasty.

I wanted to love this diner but the service was strained and the food mediocre. We decided to try it instead of going to our usual spot. The service suffered as the kind woman who was way overworked washing dishes and trying to wait tables could not keep up with a Saturday rush. The food inconsistent- my food cold and not prepared as requested - was underwhelming. Coffee was undrinkable. Based on overall experience of whole family- all agreed we would not return.
