Good spot for good value and quality sushi. . They have the standard fare like bento boxes. And sushi rolls but the thing to get here is the omakase. For $42 you get a 10 pc omakase dinner and it's the good quality fish. They also have specials like uni and bluefin which are of good quality. This location has a decent amount of seating although not many sit at the bar, just usually at the tables. Ambiance wise they usually have a some Asian music playing, one time it was K-pop, the other time it was Cantonese music so it's not overly quiet here. But it's not loud enough where you can't have a conversation. Most people at tables are talking and eating so it's a fairly lively spot. If you come on fri,sat sun it is good to make a reservation. Food is good and price is reasonable still in this environment. Same quality as the OG Amami in San Bruno and run by the same family. tLdr , come for the omakase, you'll be happy with the price quality ratio

This is the besssttt omakase I’ve ever had. Generous cuts of fish, perfectly seasoned rice and portions, beautiful presentation and a deep knowledge of everything sushi— from the fresh ginger to the fresh wasabi and the homemade soy sauce. Also cannot beat the price anywhere else. Go and go again!

Worst udon I've ever had. Should have just made a pack of ramen. Edamame was under cooked. Sashimi was awful. Whatever they put in the California roll was flavorless.l, like they rinsed it in water and set it to dry.

Consistent with their South SF locations, the omakase is the perfect rice to fish ratio. The omakase is definitely worth its price point. They also serve a variety of other sushi combinations and specialty rolls. My favorites were the salmon and toro. I wish they would've explained which fish was what when setting the plates down, but it was still delicious. There's a handful of street meter parking in the area, but it's nice for dinner time since meter doesn't apply. There's some fresh wasabi on the side. The employees were also on alert, quick to refill our tea if needed. They serve a nice wheaty tea that compliments the meal. Always a reliable place for omakase.

For $42, you can't ask for better than the chef's special omakase ! They have generous pieces of sashimi and even include high end bites including toro and hotate. The flavors also pack a huge punch- with some sashimi seared with a torch or with extra accruements to heighten the fish. I have gone twice in the past month since I realized this location was so convenient! I also love treating myself to some Santa Barbara sushi and amamebi- for the Amaebi, you can choose whether the shrimp heads are fried or in a soup. The feel is cozy and neighborhood like, and it does get busy for weekend dinner so make sure to make a reservation! Can't wait for my next visit!

SUPER SOLID SUSHI SPOT!!! I think I saw this place on YouTube for their Omakase deal & was so impressed by the looooong pieces of fish on their nigiri. I bookmarked this place & I'm so glad I did.Instead of omakase, I ordered the Lover's Boat for me and my friend to split. SUCH A STEAL! It came with 12 pieces of sashimi, 8 nigiri, a spicy tuna roll & a california roll for $53!?? THATS INSANE!! And they don't skimp on the nigiri or the sashimi. The fish tasted so yummy & I was so happy! This definitely is one of the more affordable sushi spots in the city.I went back again & got another Lover's Boat + a Sashimi Regular to-go & the quality was still top-notch. So much yummy fish for a great price. Highly recommend!I've never seen this place super busy, so everyone please go support Amami!!

I'm obsessed with every Amami Sushi Bistro. Consistency between the other locations and this awesome San Francisco one makes me appreciate all of the staff and chef's that put in the work to for quality control.Although I was super bummed when Sushi Raw closed way back when, I was really excited to see that Amami opened here.Amami is located right on busy Mission St in the Excelsior neighborhood. There's limited metered parking at night time, but it's worth the trip if you don't want to trek outside the City.I always rotate my order between the following:1. OMAKASE Set (chef's choice, but usually the same fishes since the dawn of time) with generous cuts of delicious seafood nigiri style. I really like their freshly ground Wasabi. I always finish it all!2. LOVERS Boat (recommends to serve 2, but if I could respectfully channel Joey Tribiani... Jamie doesn't share, haha. Set includes: 8pc nigiri, 12pc sashimi, California roll and Spicy Tuna roll, and fresh wasabi! Incredible deal in my opinion since it's like getting their omakase but so much more for about an additional $15.Clean, quaint, and simple but nicely decorated restaurant. Would recommend!

Really good combo deal that is great quality and value!Sushi deluxe for $29 is 9 pieces of nigiri plus rock n roll and comes with miso soup. The fish quality is pretty good and slices are a generous size. I enjoyed all of the nigiri but my favorite had to be the salmon belly. Miso soup was good, but the rock n roll was okay, it's kind of one-noted and mostly eel sauce. We also tried the chicken Karaage and negi toro roll. Karaage was okay but the texture wasn't quite what I like, it was a little more dry and tougher than expected but a decent portion. Negi toro was standard and tasty. Would definitely recommend trying the sushi deluxe if you're there.

No wait after 6pm! This place is so good, the downside is that parking is a hit or miss, you either find a metered spot immediately or you're circling to find residential parking. My friend and I each got the $42 omakase and shared a crab lover roll. The omakase comes with more than enough fresh wasabi which was my favorite part! The crab lover roll would have been even better if there were more eel sauce on the side. We got tea refills many times throughout our meal and I can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

Went for DinnerFood - 5/5. Amami never fails to impress! Miso soup was mellow and soothing. Sushi was fresh, melted in your mouth and had a perfect ratio of fish to rice. Rice had a balanced vinegar flavor and the fish was cut long to give you a little extra bite at the end. California rolls were a bit on the softer side making them fall apart if you put too much pressure but they maintained their delicious flavor. The ikura had its distinct briny fish roe flavor that was balanced out by a level of sweetness.Service - 4/5. Fast and courteous service. Food came out promptly and service was always around for requests.Value - 5/5. Their sushi regular combo is more expensive than their lunch equivalent but the $25 price tag still feels valid due to the high quality of their sushi. A la carte nigiri is on the expensive side being around $7-8 for two pieces but that is standard pricing for them. Another excellent Amami!Parking - Street (Metered)

Very delicious and fresh sushi. We tried the chef omakase that was served on a plate. Fresh and taste good. Good service too. Highly recommended.
