I have been going to Anchor Oyster Bar for more than a decade and it is simply one of my most favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. The wait is as simple as putting your name on the white board outside the door and the wait, at the height of dinner, is usually about 30-minutes. I usually aim to be there near the start of dinner so that I can sit for dinner quickly. Such a cute spot! The oysters are super fresh and delicious and the seafood offering is great. No reservations so we got there around 3pm and only had to wait about 10 mins but I expect it gets busy in the evenings.

If you want to eat cioppino in SF, this is the place. Garlic and spices combine with the flavor of seafood to create a rich flavor. The clam chowder and crab cakes are also delicious.You can't make reservations so you'll have to wait in line, but it's worth it. You can also take it home, so if you live nearby, you can take it out and make pasta with the leftover soup for a great deal and delicious?
